Obama has quiet day in Chicago

(CNN) – President Obama marked Memorial Day weekend with a quiet start Saturday, largely staying inside his Chicago home except for a basketball game in the morning.

The president played basketball for nearly two hours Saturday morning with personal assistant Reggie Love and several other unidentified men, according to a White House pool report. The game took place at University of Chicago’s Lab School, where his daughters used to attend school.

Meanwhile, after the president returned to home - located in Chicago’s upscale Hyde Park area - first lady Michelle Obama was spotted doing some yard work.

While the Obama’s may go out to dinner Saturday, they will not attend the Stanley Cup finals opening game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers, White House spokesman Bill Burton said.

Well, what are we going to blame him for today?
    Everything is this President's fault.
Really, just ask all those experts at Faux News.
Oh and it is sunny here (today) in the Chicago area.
Hopefully this President and his family are enjoying their time back home.

Thank you Mr. President! While no one is perfect I believe you are addressing the problems that will eventually help the American people.

I hope you and your family have a great holiday weekend and return to work Tuesday ready to again to support America.

Why do Republicans cry "small government, cut taxes, reduce regulation" then when something like the BP oil spill happens they want government to "FIX-IT"? Sure makes me afraid of thier agenda!!

Say hello to the kids from all America!

Where are all the "know it alls' that usually scream and yell if the president takes time off for a day with the family.!i would have expected you to all be yelling from your seat on the couch and all the goodies on the coffee table. Why aren't you out mowing the lawn or putting in a little over time at work? You think the president shouldn't have time off so why should you get any either.

Good. I'm sure they could use a weekend to regroup, just like the rest of us.

GOD help him if he doesn't make an appearance at Arlington on Monday.
His reputation with THIS country's military (shaky already) will be destroyed...

President Obama's quiet time is nothing compared to most of us because he's always working.

It's nice to relax even though you/we are [a] common citizen(s). No one needs to be scrutinized all the time like the Hollywood "celib's". I can't image livin' a life with a camera around every turn. Can you? We ALL need a "lil" time away from the people who DON'T HAVE A LIFE!...Beau Colby

I voted for Obama but if he thinks he should be on vacation while the oil problem continues to grow worst (which is something George W. Bush would do while eating pretzels, getting drunk and falling over on his head) then he just might get a shoe thrown at him also. This is not change I can believe in! This is acting like a Republican corporatists.

The president deserves a break. It has been one diaster after another for him. I don't know how he can keep it up. On top of all the humongous problems he has a political party who goal it is to destroy him. With all the crisises our country faces you would think politicians would unite, at least on some things, for the survival of our country and us.

    Obama resting in Chicago?

Obama keeps saying that he and his administration WILL NOT REST until millions of jobs are created and the oil leak is stopped.

Seems like more promises broken by our president – the liar!
