(CNN) - Karenna Gore Schiff, the oldest daughter of former Vice President Al Gore and Tipper Gore, has separated from her husband, Dr. Andrew Schiff, after 13 years of marriage, two sources close to the former vice president tell CNN.
This news comes just a week after the former vice president and Mrs. Gore announced their own separation after 40 years of marriage.
Gore Schiff is 36 years old, a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School. She married Andrew Schiff in 1997. They have three children.
Reached by CNN, Gore Schiff declined to comment on the story.

It seems the Gore family has caught a marital destruction disease. It is very disappointing to hear all this from a family everyone thought was such an intelligent and wholesome American family. However, no one knows what goes on "behind closed doors." I hope they are all able to handle their next set of problems after everyone divorces. And there will be a next set of problems.....just with different people.
Can you imagine what the reaction would be if these two divorces happened in the Palin family?

Well she hasn't divorced yet as her father and mother haven't. I guess they took Rush and Newt as examples of all those multiple marriages. If those two can get away with divorce, divorce divorce while they preach family values anybody can. Oh and I forgot Sanford of SC.
Isn't this the new American family the liberals have been pushing? Not happy leave your spouse. They're just doing what they've been pushing on us all along.
These are family values Gores, DemocRats and liberals actively practise in their life everyday! No wonder our society and family values are going down the hills. We feel deeply sorry for them but wish them well.
I am so sad for the whole Gore family. While I don't agree with Al Gore politically, it was a bright spot on the political scene to have a couple married 40 years, happy, and liking each other.

What an unusual chain of events with this family. Seems to me that there are internal problems with this family that leads to somthing "nasty" happening in the woodshed.

This is really a non-story.
These are two citizens splitting up. Let them have some privacy. Neither of them are "public figures" and the only newsworthy connection is that one of them is the daughter of another public figure who is separating from his wife.
