Obama names rest of commission to investigate Gulf oil disaster

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama on Monday announced the remaining five members of a commission he appointed to investigate the BP Gulf of Mexico oil disaster.

A White House statement said Obama named Frances Beinecke, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council; Donald Boesch, president of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Sciences; Terry Garcia, executive vice president for mission programs for the National Geographic Society; Cherry Murray, dean of the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; and Frances Ulmer, chancellor of the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Obama previously appointed former U.S. Sen. Bob Graham of Florida, a Democrat, and former Environmental Protection Agency administrator William Reilly, a Republican, as co-chairman of the seven-member commission.

Wow, yet another committee and the oil leak continous and BP is still running the show. How many more committees does our President need to make decisions?????? Had we known, we could have elected committees to run our country and skipped electing a President. Sure those poor people in Louisiana are excited of one more committee.

Without subpoena power, they'll never get the documents which are necessary to establish the root causes and contributing factors to this event. No competent lawyer would permit such a release so long as civil litigation is pending. BP, Transocean, Halliburton (and Schlumberger?) all have very competent lawyers.

That's fine, I know President Obama is doing all he can to solve and deal with the BP Disaster. What has me and others upset is how the media, including CNN has not reported on everything that IS being done, and has been done by the Obama administration throughout this crisis.

Unfortunately, too many Americans do not read nor do they listen to unbiased news.

The BP Disaster is a huge crisis, its not easy to solve. What most Americans do not know is that BP cut corners, that they did so in order to save money at the expense of the people working for them and the Gulf.

It finally dawned on me that this bozo acts just like a teenage that thinks he knows everything! He doesn't listen to his parents (the people), he spends money that he doesn't have or that America doesn't have! If something happens, "it's not my fault!" Their the ones that did it. He is nothing but a spoiled little rich kid that has no sense of responsabilty! Always hanging around the wrong people that are always patting him on the back with one hand and got their hand stuck out with the other and as long as he is giving them what they want, they will always be patting him on the back. That is what clowns do!!!

Anyone on it who actually knows anything about oil rigs? Environmentalists, former EPA execs, University administrators... sounds like a wine and cheese party. More Obama BS
