Palin hopes to meet Thatcher during possible trip to U.K.

Sarah Palin said she hopes to meet one of her 'political heroines', former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, when she visits London.
Sarah Palin said she hopes to meet one of her 'political heroines', former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, when she visits London.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be going global in her effort to connect with prominent conservatives. The former Republican vice presidential nominee said she has received an invitation to visit London and included in that was an offer to meet former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, she wrote on her Facebook page.

In the Monday posting, she described Thatcher as "one of my political heroines."

"Baroness Thatcher's life and career serve as a blueprint for overcoming the odds and challenging the 'status quo.' She started life as a grocer's daughter from Grantham and rose to become Prime Minister – all by her own merit and hard work. I cherish her example and will always count her as one of my role models. Her friendship with my other political hero, Ronald Reagan, exemplified the Special Relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom," she wrote.

Palin, who did not detail who has extended the invitation to visit, said she hopes to arrange the trip "in the future."

A spokeswoman for Thatcher told CNN her office has not been contacted recently about a possible meeting although the two women's staffs did speak last year. Asked if the former prime minister would want to meet Palin, the spokesman said "she would be very happy...if it is feasible." The spokeswoman said the possible meeting seems to have generated a lot of interest in the U.S.

    Palin is such a slimeball.

Margaret Thatcher did NOT invite her to London. In fact, Thatcher is in the late stages of total dementia and does even know who or where she is.

Palin just wants a photo op with someone who would NEVER even speak to her if she were well.

Just goes to show how low Palin will go to get any publicity to feed her pitiful ego and pea brain.

THEY HAVE EYES BUT DO NOT SEE, THEY HAVE EARS BUT DO NOT HEAR......This country's BEST hope are people JUST LIKE SARAH PALIN if not SHE. She doesn't fill the airwaves with well rehearsed and teleprompted messages of good feeling and hollow, inspirational team leading. Her words are BASIC TRUTHS, ones that make those seeded in LIES, DISTORTION, AND IMMORALITY seethe and foam at the mouth. How sad for them.

"...if it's feasible."? The ever-so-polite British way of way of saying "if she grows a brain."

May be Margaret Thatcher will drum some brains into this individual's head! Just meeting Thatcher, will not help.

What, so Palin can pad her "international experience" resume?

Forrest Oak: I believe you meant to say Palin's message for the last 10 years has been, Do anything you can to promote youself, including exploiting your children and abandoning your state when the going gets rough.

    Palin = Quitter, Liar, Mooch

According to Carol Thatcher, Margaret Thatcher's daughter, former Prime Minister Thatcher has had dementia since 2000 and has gotten progressively worse.

How utterly tasteless and pathetic that Palin would try to use Thatcher for a photo op and to boost her "international experience" cred!

Heard she had her "people" beg the Brits for the invite. Margaret Thatcher could care less in my opinion. Palin has no shame.

I would never vote for her but don't understand why people have this insatiable need to trash her.

Why does she keep showing up in the political news? At best, she is a motivational speaker or entertainer.

What are they honestly going to say to each other?
"Old Crazy, meet New Crazy. New Crazy, Old Crazy."
"I can see Russia from my house."
"Let us go forth and scream at peasants together."
Merrily, they skip away- until Thatcher breaks a hip anyway..

I don't think the Brits are stupid enough to support Palin, unlike many people here.

  19. How's That Dopey, Mangey Thing Workin' For Ya, Sarah?

Failin', Bailin', Quittin' Palin can't even speak american english much less proper English. Thatcher is sure to be disappointed by her own gender. Will Sarahcuda ask for a reading list of elitist, highbrow books with words over her head that actually end in "inG"?

Maybe I missed it, but didn't Thatcher serve her full term in office? Isn't against Palin's morals?

So Palin's desperate struggle to look legitimate continues. A photo with the most backward, right-wing PM the UK has seen in the last 40 years (and that's saying a lot!) will be played over and over by her precious Tea-baggers to show that she has international creds...

Let me put it in words the former semi-Governor would understand: See, you gotta actually meet with REAL world leaders, who are maybe like, in office and stuff... Oh, and you have to be there for more than a photo-op. And you have to talk about those pesky international relations. Otherwise it doesnt count. Sorry!
