(CNN) - President Barack Obama was "angry" after seeing the upcoming controversial magazine article about Gen. Stanley McChrystal, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday. "I gave him the article last night," Gibbs said at the daily White House news briefing. "He was angry."
Earlier, Gibbs described the "magnitude and graveness" of mistakes by McChrystal in the article as "profound."

These are the kind of back stabbing people Obama needs to get rid of. Nothing worse than a two faced person. Obama had the potential to be one of the greating Presidents this country ever had. But, he needs his people (us) to support him and the Congress to quit jerking around and get behind him so he can do his job.
I retired from the Air Force as a colonel with 26 years of service. McChrystal should be fired now and forced to retire. The President is the Commander-in-Chief and comments like this from a senior military leader have no place in the United States military. Truman was right to fire MacArthur and now Obama should fire McChrystal.
McChrystal is unpatriotic, all he is...is another disgruntled Republican!!!
I do not want my son and daughter to be under this pathetic man's command in the Military. Now that he has shown his true colors and his distain towards our country and no respect for our president (his leader) he is not anyone our troops can look up to. He has got to go!!! Fire him and send him to the brigg for treason!!!! Strip him of his brass!!! Dishonorable discharge after he serves his time for treason!
It's not the first time McChrystal have went over the President's head and disrespected him as a President. Let him go, he has no respect for the President what so ever.
Well that's one way for McChrystal to get a meeting with our fearful leader. Dictator Obama going to scold him now?
How angry? As angry as he is about the oil spill?
Who cares if Obama is angry? The man has a right to comment on whatever he wants in any way he wants.
I bet McChrystal's press aid is a Republican ... Pretty poor conduct on the part of McChrystal ... He should have talked to the President directly about his concerns.
Oh, that's right – he's on a flight to the White House now.
It's treason.
I am sure there is a nice admin job for the General over at the Pentagon's George McClellan Janitorial Closet or the Douglas MacArthur Memorial Restrooms.
Fade away, fade away.
Well, the truth does hurt and it appears Obama is just going to have to get over it.
Keep McChrystal....fire Obama.
You have no respect from anyone or any country no suprise here Obama.
The President is mad about what the General said? That's a laugh.
The American people are mad about the oil leaking in the gulf.
The American people are mad about protecting heroin dealers in Afghanistan.
The American people are mad about no jobs.
The American people are mad about the stimulus.
The American people are mad about still being in Iraq.
The American people are mad about the President doing fund raising for the mid terms while the county suffers.
The American people are mad about Israel and their continuing construction of settlements and their embargo.
The American people believe Mcchrystal is right and that Obama's Vietnam is now in Afghanistan where we shoud either let McChrystal win the was or we should pull out
The american people are mad about our inability to deal with North korea and iran.
The American peop;e Support arizona in their immigration war and want the President to deal with immigration instead of pliticizing it.
As for Biden -- Bite Me
I'd be angry, too!
Gen. Stanley McChrystal reports to the Commander in Chief...PERIOD.
He's lucky he wasn't fired immediately. I know that if I was dumb enough to make comments such as these to a magazine, I would no longer be employed.
This should be a common sense issue.
As he should be! This is so unbecoming of a senior military official. The interview makes McChrystal and his underlings look like a bunch of immature teenagers talking about their high school teachers. We expect more, much more, from folks leading our fine men and women in battle!
He can not fix afghan problem, and wanted to get out before public blame him for failure.
This just proves that the white house can't stand it when someone does not agree with them or does not have a tingle run up their leg. The general knows what he is doing, a hell of a lot better than politicians or their lip service lackeys do. Leave the man alone and let him do his job. Censorship of the truth is pure communism through and through.
The military has been given a job to do and they do it to the best of their ability, in spite of interference from a bunch of know nothings back home. Just like nam was. GOD Bless the troops.
McChrystal is probably setting up a great career opportunity as a talking head on Fox. Betcha Sarah and Glenn will welcome the lad with open arms and a fat book contract!
Give McChrystal his pink slip and bring the guys home from Iraq and Afghanistan.
But the general only said the truth
This is pathetic the Homo sexuals are trying to infiltrate the military at any cost! why can't people see what this group is trying to do!. They think their cause is more important even if it means distabilizing our military. Did they play gotcha games with general McChrystal so that they can back someone else who will be sympathic to their devious cause?. Why should people buy the story from the magazine without hearing the generals defense?. Rolling Stone is pure crap!!!
I think that General McCrystal has too much respect/concern for our troops--or he would have just resigned his position.
Gen McCrystal and his aides are just confirming what a large number of citizens in our country were thinking. WHO tells the enemies when they plan on leaving-like the Obama Admin did? That is stupid. Plus, this Admin is placing our troops at increased risk--by tying their hands as to what they are allowed/not allowed to do. They are more concerned about the rights/safety of our enemies, then they are our troops.
Go to You Tube and type this in the search bar-–'Different presidents, different corps'--to see what our military "really' thinks of the Obama Admin.
I am concerned that our efforts in the war in Afghanistan were doomed after Obama made the statement that a withdrawl would begin in the summer of 2011. Any fool should know that the Taliban/Al Qaeda would just wait us out until then.
Well... The General should be given a medal for having the guts to show Obama is a horrbile Commander In Chief. Second, who actually thinks he is?
Was Gibbs able to get that out without stuttering and "ah, ahing" over his words. Gibbs is another fine example of Obamas lack of experience in choosing his administration.
