Granted – McChrystal should not have made the comments. However, it shows just how frustrated and angry he really is. We are not winning the war in Afghanistan and too many American Soldiers are returning in body bags. Obama needs to get his priorities straight. Stop all this campaigning, concentrate on solving problems here and abroad, get over his huge ego, and listen to the American people.
That's nice Kerry.
I think that McChrystal acted like a disrespectful CRETIN too full of himself to be amusing.
Obama's choice was Gen. Mcchrystal, yet when the general stated he need 40,000 soldier, Obama sent him eventually 30,000. Obama either wants to win in Afghanistan or just playing games. Honor our fighting men and women ragardless of rank and put your Ego in the closet, Mr. President.
Send a message...fire McChrystal.
I wouldn't follow a General like McChrystal to the corner, much less up a hill.
And quite frankly if this pompous buffoon went up the hill FIRST, I'd be tempted to shoot.....him.
McChrystal has got to be fired. Last time I checked, America is still a democracy, no matter how badly the Republicans want to turn the nation into a fascist military police state.
Obviously many of the people who are remarking have never been in the military – well I have. Generals, actually Colonels and above, ARE POLITICIANS! They are appointed to their general positions by the President and “serve at his pleasure.” Please remember that President Truman fired Mc Arthur and after Eisenhower left his spiffy office in England, he became President of the United States.
Generals make political decisions all the time; that is their job. That is why General Eisenhower fired Patton after his remarks about the Russians. That is why the antics of Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery occurred – it was about British/American politics. So please people these Generals, especially 3 and 4 stars like Mc Chrystal are all about politics. Moreover, when you make a political decision and loose (or are caught), you lose your job and are fired!
Fire the bum Mc Chrystal the same way Lincoln fired another “Mc” (McClellan) during the Civil War and every President did since.
Since when does a General become so important that he cannot be replaced?????? Where was or is his mouth when he speaks with the President?? Does this mean this country does not have another General that is capable of directing a war????If that is the case how in H-L did we ever win wars before. I am sure Generals have come and gone ... My hope this guy gets demoted or fired.
I lost all respect for General McChrystal after what he did to the Tillman family, just to promote his war.
Senator Kerry – you may respect him but the rest of us do not!
He is not fit to be a General and needs to be removed from his position. I think a dishonerable discharge is called for!
McChrystal should be fired immediately, for insubordination and conduct unbecoming an officer. If he had any honor left he should show up in civvies with a signed resignation letter, along with his equally clueless aides. He obviously isn't proud of the uniform or the oath he took. The Taliban doesn't need this jerk being a cheerleader for their side. As a former Marine there is nothing worst than a commander who doesn't believe in the mission while putting your life in harm's way. Make no mistake, his big mouth is putting Soldiers and Marines on the ground in danger . The President has increased troops, given this ingrate you every resource requested, man up McChrystal and admit your strategy isn't working. You sir are no Colin Powell or Norm Schwartzkoff. They kicked Saddam's red guards across the border in 3 days war over. 11 years and undermanned insurgents are kicking our tail. If there is any toccasion for the Commander and Chief to go off this is it!!!!
Cool and all but there are specific military requirements that have been violated. Will the General be fired? Who knows! Was he wrong, absolutely! He is more than welcome to his private thoughts and feelings BUT they cannot be broadcast into the public, especially when he disagrees with his chain of command to include the President. If people took the time to read the article they would see he made no statement against the president as many assumed (based upon reading what folks had to say) BUT none the less it was a breech of protocol!
To bad nobody has any respect for you in the military you lying coward.
I doubt that McCrystal would say the same about Kerry...
