It would be better if he had said ".... HAD great respect ....".

Irrational behavior during war has no place for respect. Court-martial, downgrade, and/or dismiss dishonorably.

Fire him and get us out of Afghanistan. If he is stupid enough to feed his ego with comments like this he is too stupid to make a win out of it.

  6. get real

Rolling Stone? Really? The same great publication that once called the Backstreet Boys the Fab 5. I mean, really! You'd think military officials would be slightly above chatting with this rag. Was the interview before or after the spread on the Jonas Brothers?

General McCrystal is only verbalizing what WE ALL KNOW. This administration is lead and run by a Band of Buffoons!

He had to wait months to be told he was getting fewer troops than he requested. And Gates says last weekend that 1/3 of them aren't even there yet!!! And then Obozo says he wants to start withdrawing by next summer.

I think McCrystal knows he's been placed in a no-win situation and is being played for a fool, which he is most certainly NOT. This is his way of going down with a fight and letting the American people knew about the Band of Buffoons leading this country.

"I extend my sincerest apology for this profile. It was a mistake reflecting poor judgment and should never have happened," McChrystal said in a Pentagon statement

I have enormous respect for all our men and women who honorably serve our country.

Insubordination and poor judgment calls such as McChrystal continues to exhibit are NOT the ideal qualifications for the Top Commander of the Afghan War.

Or for any other position of authority, oversees or state-side.

McChrystal is a clown and just another flunkie from the Bush administration.

We need to get out of Afghanistan and Iraq.

General McChrystal is being called to Washington because he spoke the truth, and the truth is the last thing that Obama and the democrats want to hear from anyone.

  12. perhaps the worst mistake the GOPers made

messing with Kerry's military record in the name of winning a pres. election

the electorate will not forget how low you went

and the result that followed from believing you

8 years of lies and disasterous decisions under Bush/Cheney

we are still paying for his pushing us to war on his lies

The general and his aides behaved in an utterly childish manner. Such people do not belong in the positions they hold.

These men knew they were making these comments to a journalist, and the nation would see them in print. This shows stunningly poor judgement. People of such poor judgement do not belong in the positions they hold.

Considering their quality of judgement and level of maturity, McChrystal and his aides would better serve the nation overseeing local operation is Nome, Alaska.

The truth hurts, why all the fuss, who was called to DC after making remarks about past presidents and VPs, who of the Dems and their supporters were called back to Washington after making at times threatening comments/remarks, NO one of them!!!

    Please stop all the fuss!

Take care of business, not business as usual!!

Who cares what you think Kerry.

I think that over 6 years ago........The majority in the military made it clear that they think you are a liar, and they have no respect for you.

In regard to the majority of the miltiary, you are the male versioin of Jane Fonda.

So, do you really think that anyone cares about what you say now??

Maybe you need to spread the word Kerry....

Because the idiots in the White House have NO idea what they are doing.

Just like HILLARY said....this clown is learning on the job and his learning curve is really really big.....

He is not that smart.....and he is a wimp frail little man...

  18. lolo

All of you republicans that are complaining about this controversy needs to give it a rest. This is between the President and McChrystal. If you are not in Afghanastan please do not comment. This will take care of it self. This is no reflection on the president at all. You are just looking again for something to whine about. Anything to make the president look bad. Please think about your party problems that need to be fixed. Only your non-patriotic followers are going to make a mountain out of a mole hill on this.

Kerry is getting a kick back from Al Gore for any energy bill or climate bill or carbon tax bill that he can pass. Who cares if Kerry approves or not. Just another thief that works for a mob administration.

McChrystal has to be frsutrated by the WH. His commander in chief has no military experience nor respect for the military (Obama's SC debate...little napolean with no experience commenting on his power over the military). Good men died while he took weeks...and vacation...deciding to send more troops to afghanistan. Is the concept so hard to allow the military to fight a war to win, get out and not worry about what is politically correct?

  21. Stupid is as stupid does

Enormous respect for the man who can't follow the military code of conduct and the chain of command? Sorry, can't respect the man.

He's done this type of thing before in london, and also covered up the Pat Tilman incident. Respect, nope. He should have been gone yesterday. This is insubordination and should be treated as such.

I HAVE lost my respect for this General , time to replace him , he has a right not to personally like our President but to publiclly dis him as commander in chief is disloyal , is like the time the Dixie Chicks dissed Bush in England on tour , and their career went into the toliet! You do not dis our President on foreign shores during a war!
He should be replaced, retire and drift off into the sunset! And this will follow him as it should!

I agree with McChrystal and don't really think much of Obama. But the fact is in the military there are different standards and he should never have spoken poorly about the President publicly. He should have voiced concerns with the President in private and let the rest of us ex-military people who are civilians say how lousy he is. As much as I like McChrystal honor in his position means he should resign.

  25. Hello

I really don't like Kerry, but he sure has great hair.

What is the Obama war strategy? I know the military is using more drone attacks, but other than that, it's pretty weak.

Also, where's CNN and the other anti-war propaganda-ists? Just 2 years ago there was a critical report on every death. I'm against war and wonder why Obama is getting a free pass (and a Nobel Peace Prize).
