(CNN) - Nikki Haley's victory in South Carolina Tuesday did more than make her the Republican nominee for governor, it brought one of the political world's most famous ex-couples back together again – briefly.
South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford and ex-wife Jenny, the subject of ongoing media attention for a year, embraced and kissed at Haley's victory party Tuesday night. Both are supporters of the state lawmaker who handily beat Rep. Gresham Barrett in a runoff for the party's gubernatorial nomination.
But the total running time of affection was a mere two seconds before Jenny Sanford moved on to address another individual in the room.
It was exactly a year ago that Sanford went missing and his office infamously told members of the media the governor was hiking on the Appalachian Trail. It was discovered days later the Republican governor was actually in Argentina visiting a mistress. After a long separation, the two were divorced in February.
Mere gossip AGAIN from CNN
Surprise S.C., Ms. Haley was picked and groomed by Sanford to be your next governor!
Jenny Sandford is a lady, after all. They have children together and must remain cordial. She has moved on and is a model for all divorced women. If at all possible, maintain a civil relationship, and your kids will survive.
Sounds like a publicity stunt.
this is not newsworthy, they barely touched!
We should hold the muckrakers who dig for these stories to the same standard we expect of our politicians.Except for a few dollars it cost taxpayers, which he paid back, it is a lot less costly than the escapades of the House Speaker and her private jet expenses for her cohorts. It was a matter better left for the couple,to decide about the fate of the children and whether it could be worked out .We let the media get by with murder for the dollars that are made trashing people. We have our priorities wrong.
lol...quiet day for CNN, huh?
Look on the positive side.....they are friends...it's a win win for their children.
whoever wrote this article proves that they know exactly zip about relationships: These two people had children together and had a relationship over time, what did you expect them to do
Big celebration at the Adulterer's Ball. Go SC! Leading the charge into the 19th century!
That was one of the coldest moments-no affection whatsoever, barely eye contact.....ugh...
