(CNN) - The day Bristol Palin fans have been waiting for has finally arrived: ABC has released a clip of her acting debut on the small screen.
Palin is playing herself on the ABC Family show "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," set to air later this summer. According to the network, Palin plays a friend of the show's main character, Amy. The show has recently focused on how Amy reacts to an unexpected pregnancy.
Palin, the 19-year old daughter of Sarah Palin, gave birth to her son Tripp in December 2008.

How appropriate. A member of a monumentally dysfunctional family appears in a TV soap opera.
Shouldn't this be in the entertainment section a long side everything her mother says and does.
No wonder her boyfriend is hanging around again. Like her Dad, the Alaskan men know how to live off their women. Come to think of it Bristol is living off her mother's name. Show-biz is in the family blood.
This is a joke. She is not the only teen pregancy. ABC only gave her this part because Sarah Palin was selected as John McCain's running mate. This family is great at using the media and hollywood. Get acting parts to individuals that have paid their dues.

The message here to all teenagers is "get pregnant and you'll get your TV debut". I think the daughters of the Clintons, Bush and McCain family would better serve teenagers to get their education first, get engaged, get married and then plan to have babies.
America just can't seem tor resist being fed no-talent personalities simply because they have a name with some notoriety. It's how an entire Kardashian family, or a Lohan family, or a Baldwin family makes it to the big time in spite of lack of real talent. Other than Alec, where are the rest of those brothers now?
Bristol's mama's only talent is her mouth and a well-developed ability to generate controversy. Bristol's only getting this opportunity because of her mother...not because she has any talent. Same for Levi who also got his opportunities because of Sarah.
Talent isn't in a name...it is developed and worked for....and yet a pathetically dumbed-down America acts like it must be genetically inbred to the point that we say "feed us more."
Now don't pretend that her life is "supposed to be " private anymore.
