Acting national intelligence chief resigning at end of August

Washington (CNN) - David Gompert, the acting director of national intelligence, has informed Congress he is resigning effective the end of August regardless of whether the new nominee for the post is confirmed, a U.S. intelligence official told CNN.

The nomination of James Clapper has been delayed because of infighting over an intelligence bill.

Republicans have blocked more than a hundred nominees and as many efforts to pass anything meaningful as they possibly can. They truly do not care one bit about the nation's needs. It's all about the Party but these tactics may backfire on them. Yesterday, they blocked legislation that would cut taxes and extend unemployment for those who have been left behind by the recession.

They doubled the deficit in the 8 years of the Bush Administration, deregulated to the point of financial collapse and environmental crisis. Now, they want to ridicule those who have lost their jobs as lazy and unwilling to work! Many of those who are unemployed are Republicans who may not be impressed with these games they're playing.

Why would we need a National Intelligence Chief? Is there something going on?

True patriots should stand in opposition to the federal government guarding the security of the nation.

More disarray in the inept, corrupt, union toady administration of our president Barak Obozo. Guess it is time for another golf game. Or perhaps he can get some idiot rock star to knock George Bush to divert attention from his own stupidity.

The more people involved in intelligenge decisions, the more chance for leaks, bad deal.On the financial reform, they put frank and dodd in charge of this bill, when they are the ones that were in charge of the fannie- freddie collapse which caused the subsequent economic meltdown, thats a real brilliant move, maybe manage a hot dog stand correctly, maybe.
