Kagan: I will listen hard, work hard

(CNN) - Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan will tell members of the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday that "we come closest to getting things right when we approach every person and every issue with an open mind," according to excerpts of her opening statement released by the White House.

"I will make no pledges this week other than this one - that if confirmed, I will remember and abide by all these lessons. I will listen hard, to every party before the Court and to each of my colleagues. I will work hard. And I will do my best to consider every case impartially, modestly, with commitment to principle, and in accordance with law."

Turnabout is Fair Play – "Ignore the arrogant, ignorant, windbags of pomposity and hatefulness known as the so-called "republican party"

You haven't been paying attention have you? The real arrogant windbag haters are in your party, not the Repubs. Some of us can see things for what they really are. You obviously can't.

IWe have one of the most activist courts in decades, but the right is strangly quiet. And today, they issued a ruling that strikes down state laws regarding gun ownership. Don't state rights matter any more? Aren't we supposed to be opposed to un-elected judges who override voter wishes? Because if having activist judges is suddenly okay, then can someone please explain to me the problem that the right has with Kagan?

Right now it appears to me that activist judges are okay as long as they come from the right-wing. Surely isn't not as cynical as that??
