Washington (CNN) - The Democratic National Committee has named four cities as finalists to host the 2012 Democratic convention.

The potential sites for the convention, to be held during the week of September 3, 2012, are St. Louis, Charlotte, Minneapolis and Cleveland.

"Throughout this summer, our team will visit these four cities to determine which is the best locale to host our 46th National Convention," DNC chairman Tim Kaine said in an email to committee members announcing the finalists. "We look forward to our continued work to ensure that the Democratic National Convention of 2012 is the best that it can be."

The DNC will select the host city "at some point before the end of the year," a party official told CNN.

Last month, the Republican National Committee's site selection committee recommended Tampa, Florida as the host city for their 2012 convention. The RNC is expected to finalize that decision at their summer meeting in August.

The way this lyihg, inept, corrupt, union toady of a president is going, they will not be able to fill a phone booth with delegates any where they decide to have it. Of ourse CNN and the rest of the state run media will cover it. Wait until the next set of unemployment figures come out and everyone should be able to see through the "summer of recovery" lie.

The dems shouldn't even bother with a convention. Noone is going to be foolish enough to elect them again. They are CLUELESS.

Why not Chicago? It is the adopted home of the President, and Illinois is the poster child for Democrat policies. We have over 10% unemployment, and a $13 Billion deficit. Democrats have controlled every elected office for 8 years and they blame all our problems on Republicans. This seems like the perfect venue for the Democrat Convention.

As any comedian will second, Cleveland is the obvious choice! Emoting liberals belong in the city that is the butt of big jokes!

They took over the auto industry, then healthcare, now financial services, energy is next, and then You.

Wake up people! Obama and the Democrats are "changing" are country into a socialist nightmare. In November, vote American, vote Republican.

St. Louis would be a great choice for the DNC....they drew over 100,000 people under the Arch for then candidate Obama. Minneapolis had the RNC already so they had their shot. Plus Missouri is a bell weather state so it would be ideal to get some of those folks on board for that.

Which city is the greatest distance away from where the Deep Horizon is spewing oil? This city will be the democrats choice for their convention. They don't want people to remember how inefficient and inept the response to the oil disaster has been.

If the regime grants amnesty, elections won't be necessary. The Republic will be gone.

St. Louis would be the best bet. Charlotte a close 2nd...the Dem's are finally starting to win back some of the South. Although the Neo-Confederates are still clinging to the good ole boy past, turn back the clock to the 1800's mentality.

One of the 4 destined to be the Liars Capital of the World. Hopefully, Obama will choose a city more in line with his political views, like Havanna.

I was just thinking Raleigh would be a good choice, but Charlotte is better. Bringing the Democratic convention to a city that was so heavily impacted by the failed financial policies of the previous Republican administration would be brilliant. Since all the possible locations are in "swing states," I would advocate for the Southern swinger just because the ability of Dems to win NC helps their narrative more than the potential bump they might get from siting the convention in any of the midwest cities. Dems will win the Midwest in '12 anyway. They can only improve on their Southern standing, and Charlotte is a great place to start.

To be fair, though, I am a Tarheel, and so probably biased as a result. :-)

Mark my words...It will be Cleveland. They will need Ohio in an attempt to re-elect the Social-Communist.

Definitely be Cleveland 'cause of the four states, Ohio has by far the most electoral votes, and both parties desperately need Ohio's electoral votes in order to win.

Minneapolis is a better convention city, but it has to be Cleveland.

I hope that Phoenix is selected in 2016 by either party. what a shame, because Phoenix is on most people as a clean and quality city. By the way Metro Phoenox is cleaner than any of the cities.considered by either the Republicans or Democrats.
