Obama: New U.S. sanctions show international resolve on Iran

(CNN) - President Barack Obama is calling new U.S. sanctions he will sign into law Thursday a further sign that "the United States and the international community are determined to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons."

In the advanced text of his comments for the bill signing, Obama notes that the U.N. Security Council has passed the strongest sanctions to date against Iran, and that Australia, the European Union and Canada also have taken or are considering stronger steps to further isolate Iran's nuclear program and supporting entities.

OK all you cool-aid drinking liberals, to get the Soviet Union and China's buy-in the sanctions were negotiated away to almost nothing with any teeth. Do any of you really believe these watered down sanctions are going to stop the Iranians from developing and deploying nuclear weapons.

No – but you keep believing in this BS coming from the Obama administration. This guy is not experience enough to shine the brass on Gen Crystal’s uniform, much less to lead this country. Now he’s put Bush’s general who authored the surge in Iraq to bail him out in Afghanistan. What; no more General Betray–us?

Keep the hope and change; give me experience and steadfast conviction.

There is nothing that "Jimmy Obama" can do to prevent the Iranians from getting nuclear weapons. And these sanctions aren't going to change that.So he should remove that language from his speeches. He and Hillary both need to take a course in reality and stop using silly rhetoric !!!!

This guy is unbelievable.. Does he think that American's are idiots.. the economy is taking, the gulf is oil laden,, American's don't have jobs, debt is rising like a phoenix, the DOJ supports racist (black on white) voter intimidation, and he won't protect the border. It doesn't take much of brain to see that his plan to register as many fake/illegal voters as possible to take the midterms and 2012 election.. just like he did the 2010 elections (black panther intimidation at voting booth anyone?). Thanks, but no thanks .. 2010/2012 will be the change we can ALL believe in.. when this idiot and the idiots in congress/senate are all gone! VOTE FREEDOM

While I have no love for Iran and its dictatorship Theocacry, I do not deny them the right to develop nuclear power or weapons. We didn't stop China, India or Paskistan to name a few. The threat to destroy Israel would be met with obliteration from Israel who, by the way, we helped develop their own nuclear weapons!
