(CNN) – A political fistfight over a website claiming to spotlight "the real Sharron Angle" is heating up the campaigns of Nevada's Republican Senate nominee and that of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The Angle campaign released a statement Monday night saying that they sent a "cease and desist" letter to Reid's campaign last Friday, which they say forced the Reid camp to take down a website that falsely represented itself as Angle's campaign website.
After winning the June 8 primary in Nevada, the Republican challenger to Reid took down her pre-primary website and relaunched a new glitzier and slimmer version. Angle's new version offered a trimmed down version of where the candidate stands on the issues, including no longer including her position on the nuclear waste dump facility at Yucca mountain and her calls to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education.
Her original website was re-launched by the Reid campaign as http://www.therealsharronangle.com. That web address now directs users to http://www.sharronsundergroundbunker.com, which indicates it is paid for by the Nevada Democratic Party.
Angle spokesman Jerry Stacy says that Reid's campaign responded immediately by removing the site.
"Make no mistake, the Reid campaign was forced to take this site down because they were breaking several laws and trying to deceive the voters. You're going to see a lot of dirty tricks like that from Reid's campaign," says Stacy. "This is a clear case of a desperate man doing desperate things to win."
The Reid campaign says they did not move the address of the website because of Angle's cease and desist letter, and in a statement, they say that "Sharron Angle is trying to silence, well, Sharron Angle."
"Sharron has long believed in killing Social Security, eliminating the Departments of Education and Energy and shipping nuclear waste to Nevada," adds spokesman Jon Summers. "We've always heard that Sharron Angle is an unapologetic conservative. It has to be embarrassing for her to have her handlers trying to hide who she really is."
Polls indicate that Reid, who's bidding for a fifth term in the Senate, faces a very difficult road to re-election, thanks in part to the anti-incumbent feeling in the nation and the tough economy, which is hitting Nevada especially hard. Nevada leads the nation with the highest statewide unemployment rate.

The only people who don't want the Department of Education killed off are Democrats who seem to have an enormous need to micro-manage every aspect of American life, from education to people's health insurance to their retirements to just about everything else.
The purpose of all this, of course, is to buy votes for Democrats. The Department of Education is one of the principal reasons teacher's unions are so powerful, and those unions are a principal beneficiary of the DoE. Obamacare is, of course, another huge, insanely expensive, entitlement program designed to buy the votes of the country's irresponsible, indolent, and improvident marginal citizens who want other people to pay their bills for them. Social Security is also an entitlement program, the benefits of which have been manipulated so far beyond what's actuarially sound that the system is going bankrupt, all in an effort to buy more votes.
The philosophy of the Democratic Party is that it's fine to "rob Peter to pay Paul" in the hope of buying Paul's vote. This works fine as long as there are more Pauls than Peters, something the Democrats try hard to achieve with their would-be culture of dependency. Unfortunately–for the Dems–the country's Peters are finally catching on and getting angry–that's what the Tea Parties are all about.

"...the Angles of this world move one step closer to having burqa-clad subjugate populations (who are well-armed, of course)."
How can you have a well-armed "subjugate" population? If they're that well armed, why would they tolerate being subjugated?
(A burqa, by the way, is ideal for concealing your SMG.)
"cant fight fair so they play games,"
Oh...do tell. Would you like to explain to the class how it is unfair and "playing games" to quote someone for saying extremist things a couple months ago during a primary in order to get people to vote for her and then show how her positions magically changed during the general election beacuse she knows that she can't just survive on right-wing extremism if she wants to get elected? Please, explain it to us, so we can fully appreciate the true depths of Angle's victimhood.
"How can you have a well-armed "subjugate" population?"
Just ask the TX Board of Education. The answer is simple: indoctrination.
Yucca Mountain is a 22 years 13 Billion dollars project that would and will be a good place to store spent Nuclear fuel rods from Reacotrs. Too Much Local Hysterical society Hype about Radiation leaking,It is Crapola and anyone who knows anything about spent fuel rods knows this., Reid is grasping at straws and wasteing our tax money,a High speed train is stupid,it takes hundreds of thousands of passengers to break even on running one. Take Europe, France has one,and they have 64 million people who live in a space the size of Texas.with 62 million living in cities. Germany has 82 Million people in a space the size or Oregon.
Angle could not be any worse than Reid and the 'buddy buddy' system he has made a fortune off of. It is time for a change and a big one. Reid – if re-elected will continue as he has – against the will of the people. He is in a leadership position with alot of influence. Angle however, when elected – would be with no leadership position. The amount of harm she may be able to do would be near zero. Reid has already shown the harm he is capable of doing. Vote out incumbents! Lets put DC back on track – working for American citizens and not their own pockets!
Reid is desperate Well, yes of course he's also an idiot, and has no ethics. Another prime example of what is wrong with our country!
