Business leaders: Obama policies 'job-destroying'

New York (CNNMoney.com) - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce slammed President Obama's economic policies Wednesday, saying administration officials "took their eyes off the ball" and "neglected" to focus on job creation.

A letter posted to the business group's site and a summit with 500 business leaders were the latest moves in an ongoing battle between big business and the Obama administration.

The two are at odds over the best way to keep the recovery from slipping into a double-dip recession. The Chamber believes tax cuts are key to job creation. The Obama administration, however, has focused on stimulus and spending to create jobs.

The Chamber said in its letter that the administration "vilified industries while embarking on an ill-advised course of government expansion, major tax increases, massive deficits and job-destroying regulations."

You have to pretty much ignore anything the Chamber of Commerce says–they are the mouthpiece of Big Business.

  4. Dems kill jobs

Only the blinded, dopey and/or uninformed think that Obama has been helping the economy and job growth. At this point, the best thing he could do is stop 'leading' and golf more.

The Chamber wants to return to the very policies that got us into this mess in the first place. In communication theory, the power to define is the power to control. The Chamber wants to define this as over-regulation and job killing, while the issue is about fairness and stopping rampant greed on Wall Street and the Corporate Boardrooms who pull the strings of the Chamber. Obama is not anti-business. The Chamber is anti-fairness and pro-greed.

"The U.S. Chamber of Commerce slammed President Obama's economic policies Wednesday, saying administration officials "took their eyes off the ball" and "neglected" to focus on job creation."

So, did the former President of the United States also get a letter like this? Just saying. Those tax cuts during W's years in office really created just an extraordinary amount of jobs now didn't they? What are these people smoking? To paraphrase Meg Ryan from Sleepless in Seattle: I'll have what they're having!"

They have no business offering any opinion – where was the Chamber of Commerce during the Bush Administration – oh wait, the GOP ALWAYS puts business first NEVER those of us who actually WORK at those businesses. So as long as their coveted tax breaks are kept, they follow in lock-step with the administration. About damn time someone looks out after those of us who are not privy to those generous cuts!

We know stimulus didn't work, we also know tax cuts don't work, isn't that what got us in this mess? We need more production going on in this country that will create jobs but just about every business is all about profits, why have products built in america and pay american salaries when you can outsource it to a cheaper country. I know Obama ain't no business genius but you can blame the job problem totally on him.

    Obama policies 'job-destroying'

What a load of crap. Businesses haven't taken enough advantage? The business community has had it their way for way too long, at the expense of the country and the middle class – time to gut it up chamber. It's time for the workers to gain instead of lose.

Tax cuts? Short memories Chamber regarding how the Bush administration destroyed our country's economy as a result
of $1.3 trillion in tax cuts for the wealthy, two wars, and tax
breaks for big business and wall street through deregulation.

Apparently the Chamber – in conjunction with Fox Noise, Failin
Palin, et al – includes as many wingnuts as the party of NO
    GOP.

Tax Cuts? Who is the Chamber of Commerce anyway? Just
a group of destruction minded lunatics!

no way!! a conservative group is mad at Obama?!?! go figure! and i dont think Obama villified these corporations. when you already pay the lowest tax rate since the 1800's, fail miserably to create jobs with those low tax rates, only vote republican, and need bailout maony to survive, i think you become the villian naturally. Obama has not raised your taxes so why cant you create a job without the government's help? hypocrits, all of them.

I kind of knew that they would say TAX CUTS are the only way to heal this. Been there, done that, they took the shirt back!!!

The trickle down policies of old have never worked.

Mine is a family of farmers and it takes both, rain coming down (tax cuts) and the seeds that have been planted in the ground (social responsibility). You actually need more coming up than you do of what is coming down.

    Peace :-)

Cut everybody's tax's to 10% and put the money into the consumers hands. Small Busineses go tax free for 24 months and jobs will be created
