(CNN) – House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, welcomes President Obama to Michigan Thursday with a scathing critique of his economic policies.
"When President Barack Obama speaks in Holland today, I hope that instead of trying to convince the people of a city suffering from 11.8 percent unemployment that our economy is 'moving forward,' he will listen closely when they ask, 'Where are the jobs?,' Boehner wrote in an editorial that appears in Thursday's edition of The Detroit News.
In the op-ed, Boehner said that since February 2009 the economy has lost three million private sector jobs while the federal government has added more than 400,000 jobs.
"More government, fewer jobs: This isn't the picture of recovery; it's the epitome of failure," the top House Republican wrote.
The president is scheduled to travel to Holland, Michigan to appear at a plant that produces batteries for electric vehicles. The plant is funded by a grant from Obama's $787 billion stimulus plan.

John Boehner needs to be looking in the mirror when he asks that question. Unfortunately for us, what his party is good at is using both smoke and mirrors to hide the damage they have done, not only to America, but the whole free world (except for China and India).
I think I've finally figured out the Obama administration strategy for job creation. Mismanage the Oil spill until enough oil flows into the gulf to continually wash up on the shores for the next twenty years. Then BP and the States can hire low end temporary labor to walk along our entire gulf coast states shoreline and pick up tar balls, wash birds and do soils tests. Hey, unemployment solved, and you all didn't have faith that they could do it!

I really hope the majority of voters don't forget that it was the Republican party that got us in this mess in the first place. President Obama can't magically pull us out of a recession in 2 years. If the republican's take control again, they'll blame Obama, stay in control and won't stop until they have destroyed and/or stolen EVERYTHING!

It has been the epitome of failure. Obama has had the White House and control of Congress and still has not been able to focus enough to turn our economy around. Growing government and constantly castigating private business is where Obama came from and that is the results we have seen from his administration as Boehner stated.
And Boehner's solution is to cut taxes for people making more than $250,000 per year, thereby increasing the federal deficit, while cutting out services to the unemployed, Veterans and senior citizens.
But he doesn't mention that part of the equation...
In order for this to be such a spectacular failure, the Obama Administration had to go into previously unheard of spending levels with their Stimulus bill. They made a huge bet with our tax dollars and it was a bust. Clearly the correct path would have been to actually manage the decreased tax revenues brought about by the recession and tightening the Federal budgets. Instead, they chose to go against huge amounts of data both in America's own experience and abroad with a program of massive government spending. They claimed to know better than everyone else. Again it did not work. Thus the epitome of failure.
If the Bush tax cuts helped the economy so much, why am I in a red state that has more unemployment than the national average?
Let's see, Ohio's unemployment rate is extremely high and the senator has done NOTHING to help those struggling workers. In fact, he has voted NO on any measure put forth by this congress to assist the unemployed.
So, if anyone knows the meaning of "dismal failure" it would be the one who epitomizes it-John Boehner who has failed his constiuents!

Notice once again the Republican leadership is quick on the draw to cast politically based criticisms, but they provide no new suggestions.
We have seen Republican economic policy. It's the same tax cuts and de-regulation that gave us the deficit and financial meltdown. Obama has not gotten the car out of the ditch yet, BUT THE REPUBS ARE THE ONES WHO DROVE INTO THE DITCH IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
Boehner's suggestion is essentially to not do the stimulus package, which would mean none of the jobs that the stimulus created, and practice "small government" which would mean none of the government jobs that have been created there. NOW HOW WOULD THAT BE BETTER?
