(CNN) - With "Charlie Wilson's War" and "The West Wing" among his writing credits, Aaron Sorkin is no stranger to political drama.
Now he'll make his feature directorial debut with a movie about former presidential candidate John Edwards and his affair with mistress Rielle Hunter.
The writer/producer has acquired the rights to Andrew Young's book, "The Politician: An Insider's Account of John Edwards's Pursuit of the Presidency and the Scandal That Brought Him Down," CNN confirmed.

Save your time Mr. Sorkin, this "movie" will go straight to the discount video bin. Egotistical politician cheats on wife, has child with mistress. Sound like a Lifetime movie too me. Not worthy of a theatre ticket.

Prominent married man,who was running for President of the U.S,
cheated on his wife, had sex with this woman, woman had a baby
which he at first denied, then owned up to it He uprooted the lives of his
wife and children, left them and moved in with his sweetie. His current wife filed for divorce. NOW!!!! He is being shown as a hero,celebrity, whatever you want to call it......Not only all of the above, but, he will also
profit monetarily. Is there something wrong with this situation? OR......is
it me. If his behavior is accepted, it certainly makes me feel like a
puritan!
Why a movie? This guy needs to fade into obscurity as a sorry foot note in the history of the demise of the Liberals in American Politics.
