(CNN) – Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin has joined the pantheon of politicians who've made their own additions to the English language.
The former Alaska governor has added to our vocabulary with "refudiates" - assumedly an amalgamation of "refute" and "repudiates." Palin used the new word in a Sunday posting on Twitter that called on Muslims to denounce plans to build a mosque and community center near Ground Zero in New York City.
"Ground Zero Mosque supporters: doesn't it stab you in the heart, as it does ours throughout the heartland? Peaceful Muslims, pls refudiate," Palin tweeted, according to reports.
The original tweet was deleted and replaced with another that lacked "refudiate": "Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real."
Although she deleted her original tweet, Palin is not distancing herself from her new word. Instead, Palin is embracing it and turning to none other than Shakespeare to justify her linguistic invention.
"'Refudiate,' 'misunderstimate,' 'wee-wee'd up.' English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!" Palin tweeted Sunday as the blogosphere started to criticize her for a gaffe.
She alludes to former President George W. Bush's famous utterances of "misunderstimate" during the 2000 campaign and President Barack Obama's use of "wee-wee'd up" to describe Washington's penchant for getting worked up over controversy.
Palin's original tweet remains missing from her Twitter page. Some of Shakespeare's works are lost too.

She should know that most college student on twitters and she is going to get talked about badly by the young people in this country and their is no way they will vote this woman into the White House. She is not liked by the young adults in this country they things she is very stupid.
Well, she has to prepare to run for president. So she has to make up her vocabularies like George Bush. The "misunderestimated " and other stuff. That represents the stuff Republicans are made of. Always sending us their dumbest to the Whitehouse and expecting us to follow. I hope Sarah Palin is here to make her own money briefly and retire back to Alaska. For the sake of America, she should never be encouraged to run for presidency.

Why doesn't the media do their job telling us how this incompetent president plans to fix this economy, secure our borders, protect us from our enemies (Iran, N. How it is that anyone continues to pay attention to anything coming from this person is beyond me. The press continues to cover Palin's inane comments even though she obviously lacks both knowledge of issues and the native intelligence to discuss them thoughtfully. You could walk over to your grocery store and find dozens of people more informed and insightful than Palin, but you're not going to see any of them on the news.
For the love of God, CNN and other media sources, stop giving this woman any credibility by giving her your platform.
You have to admire Obama for his spelling and mastery of the English language and oratory skills.
I admire Sarah Palin for her grasp of the role of government in America and her ideas about politicians working for the people instead of people working so that politicians can give the farm away.
