TIME.com: The Very Best #Shakespalin Tweets

Palin says she likes to coin new words just like Shakespeare did.
Palin says she likes to coin new words just like Shakespeare did.

Sarah Palin used Twitter to laugh off accidentally coining a new word, "refudiate." She joked that since Shakespeare coined new words, why shouldn't she? Word nerds and literary buffs didn't take kindly to Palin comparing herself to Shakespeare, and turned her quip into comedic gold.

Hence, the #shakespalin hashtag, where Twitter users write Shakespearean quotes, Palin-style. Check out the quippiest (did we make that word up, too?) tweets.

Sarah wins every time they try to trash her! You can tell how important she is to everyone by the way they pick up on every word and action! Go Sarah–she is brighter than all of her detractors!

Are you kidding me? What makes her think that she could ever compare herself to someone like Shakespeare? Instead of doing as past politicians have done and make fun of themselves for mispronouncing a word, she tries to justify it. Is this how her political career is going to continue?

    Dear Sarah Palin,

Comparing yourself to Shakespeare is a big insult to one of the greatest literary person on the earth. In fact, I am at a loss of words to describe even 1% of your stupidity. Only in America will people tolerate a fool like you.

Does anyone have a good idea on how we can get rid of this "airhead" in Alaska? May be we can send her into space on a one way flight?

I love how much media coverage this word had gotten. We all from time to time butcher a word or two when we speak. I even heard BO do it in a natinal speech but did anyone cover that–NO! It is unfortunate that all of us can't be as perfect as the media and the politcal left.

Why do we keep giving this woman any press time? I continue to say, she QUIT on the state of Alaska. Thiings got "hot" up there and instead of fighting for herself and the state, she just quit. If this woman was elected to ANY office and things get "hot" again (which no politician is immune to), will she just quit again?

    Please people think about that...................

She's a little smarter and a little cuter than GW Bush. Still think she can't be elected? Unfortunately that's all some people need in a leader.

The Shakespearian comment was just a joke but the Liberal media is already attacking Palin for comparing herself to the great writer.

Will the utter hate and unfair treatment of this woman ever cease?

Meanwhile the left-wing fantasy world went upside down when Senator Vitter said that Rachael Maddow looked like a man. By the way, looking at her it's a pretty honest comment!

Just to help those who do not get it, wee-wee'd up is the polite way of saying PISSED OFF. Yet I cannot imagine any politician every saying that – in public...

Palin needs to master our English of today before trying to make up new words.

This woman is an embarrassment to the Republican Party! How I miss the '50s and '60s, when the GOP was the party of the TRULY intelligent and the Democrats were the simpletons! How the heck did this reversal happen? True conservatism demands more than "You betcha."

What is the big deal??? It's a sniglet.
In comedy, a sniglet is "any word that doesn't appear in the dictionary, but should".

The neologistic term sniglet was popularized by writer/actor/comedian Rich Hall, who created a series of sniglets while he was a performer on the 1980s HBO comedy series Not Necessarily the News. Each episode of the monthly series featured a regular segment on Sniglets by Hall. Hall's own sniglets along with submissions by fans were compiled into several books, starting with Sniglets and More Sniglets.

Sistah Sarah proves yet again that "ya can't fix stupid". One wonders how she ever got elected in the first place if Alaskans aren't the dumbest group of voters on the planet.
