Sure – after the oil has stopped and you can swim now. Sure didn't see them down there when families were hurting with no hope in site. He vacations everywhere else but in his speech, he told us to go to the gulf, give them your business! Yeah, he needs to get the boot business in 2012!

Good. And to the complainers...it's a weekend, not a vacation. I'm sure all of you work tirelessly ALL weekend long without a break.

Yep – a wholesome family that takes their kids on trips they would learn from. I gather they do catch a glimpse of the news media and most likely cannot understand why they're being blamed for the crisis!!!!

OH – you might say – who's blaming the kids??? My point exactly!! You should not be blaming President Obama either!!!

On another note – I think CNN broke the record today on POLLS!!!!!!

Way to go AGAIN Mr. President!! The whole family is going. Excellent! The ENTIRE First Family will be on hand to lend support, listen to the locals concerns, and experience first-hand the magnitude of the oil industry's irresponsibility.

Your family is your primary support system Mr. President. I am happy to see that you're turning this situation into a teachable moment for the girls. And demonstrating to the nation, and the world at large that it is NOT just about enjoying the nice perks for your family, but also being there in person when Americans are suffering. All of you TOGETHER, excellent!!

It will be a learning experience for his daughters on what greed, corruption, no regulations, and criminal negligence by large corporations can do to our country.

First it was the Republican-deregulated banks who brought down our financial system, Next it was the Republican deregulated drug and insurance industry who bankrupted Americans and increased our national debt, and once again, the Republican deregulated oil industry allowed to do business with NO safety controls, NO inspections, and NO accountability. Dick Cheney himself put oilmen into the mgmt positions at the MMS regulatory agency so the oil companies could do as they pleased assured the govt regulatory agency would not interfere. Now our whole Gulf region is destroyed.

Republicans = Destruction, Division, Dishonor, Digusting racism, and Denial of everything they do wrong. They have no leadership, no solutions, have done nothing to help America recover, and now expect us to vote for them again???? They are Delusional. They may have forgotten the Bush years but We have not. The Party of NO is going to get ALL our NO votes in NOvember.

    Mr. President –

Cut the defict ... get us out of Iraq & Afghanistan ...

All those Republicans clamoring against " SPENDING" will have no choice but to support this.

The liberal base of the Democratic Party will rally behind you ... this is a "No-Brainer"

Isn't that special. Hate for him to wait too long between vacations. Maybe this choice had something to do with his last decision to go to New England and not the Gulf. Maybe he can speak to all of the people out of jobs (not on vacation) because of the ban on drilling in the Gulf.

Good, its important for President Obama to keep his eye on what's going on with British Petroleum. You can't trust them.

  14. More pandering another vacation

Obama is being tugged in every direction trying to appease all potential voters This Gulf trip is pure political theatre to counteract the negative press from his Maine vacation. I guess next weekend he will vacation in the flood impacted Kentucky; and the week after he will travel to Georgia, home of the civil rights hero, Sherrod?

Maybe if Obama just worked on the many problems we have, we would see some light at the end of the tunnel.

This cracks me up..Obama and his wife encouraed everyone to vacation in the Gulf and then they go to Maine and schedule Cape Cod. Well, everyone says why don't they go to the gulf. Guess what...now they are...can't this guy and his staff think of these things themselves. It's like he is incapable of doing the right thing unless everyone gets upset.

Just switched on Fox News for a quick check: "Some question President's Gulf trip timing," they say. Geez.

I had suggested earlier this summer, and will again, set up a summer White House on the Gulf. Whenever you are not required to be somewhere else, be there. The closer the better.
