Reid praises progressives at Netroots convention

'I know that there are times I am told that I get on your nerves,' Senate Majority Leader Reid said to some laughter in a gathering of progressive activists. 'And I am here to tell you ... you get on my nerves sometimes.'
'I know that there are times I am told that I get on your nerves,' Senate Majority Leader Reid said to some laughter in a gathering of progressive activists. 'And I am here to tell you ... you get on my nerves sometimes.'

Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) - Acknowledging that he and they don't always see eye to eye, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) on Saturday praised the influence of progressive activists gathered at the annual Netroots Nation convention.

Speaking to a large ballroom filled with bloggers and others in the movement, Reid said they help represent the voice of "real Americans."

"I admire how you pursue the truth as relentlessly as you reveal hypocrisy," he said. "You shine much-needed light on fear tactics and misinformation. I am calling you to keep calling them out."

But Reid, who has not always pushed agenda items as liberal as progressives would like on such issues as health care reform, acknowledged their past differences.

"I know that there are times I am told that I get on your nerves," Reid said to some laughter in the room. "And I am here to tell you ... you get on my nerves sometimes."

As long as we do not have 60 true Democrats we will never get true change in this country. The fear/hate/obstructionist/purity Republicans have only one goal: to make this President or any Democratic President fail; in hopes they will regain power and once again implement the same old policies that got us into the messes in the first place. Trickle down economics has not and never will work because of GREED at the top. We need to eliminate all"blue dogs ( code for Republican) and most importantly strip Lieberman of all chairmanships forcing him to become what he truly is a Republican. Once we have 60 true Democrats the others can continue their useless ways because we will not need them.

    Elect Real Democrats.

It is a shame the republicans have infiltrated the Democratic Party.

It has brought disgrace to the ideals the Democratic Party stands for.

Throw out Lieberman, Nelson and the other scumbags who are dressed as Democrats but vote for big business.
