Washington (CNN) - Just days before her wedding, Chelsea Clinton was spotted by Women's Wear Daily outside the Vera Wang showroom in New York City, sporting an enormous straw hat that drooped over her entire head.
Ostensibly meant to shield her from prying eyes, the hat (and the rest of Chelsea) is featured prominently on the WWDEYE Scoop's website, along with a story detailing some other juicy tidbits about the Clintons' pre-wedding festivities.
In the piece, which was posted online Wednesday, Rosemary Feitelberg said that Chelsea Clinton was "asked on the street what she found most challenging about planning a wedding." Feitelberg writes that, "Clinton looked up briefly but remained silent and lowered her head again." Feitelberg also noted that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attended the Vera Wang event with her daughter, and described the nation's top diplomat as scrolling through her Blackberry "momentarily on the sidewalk while waiting for her handlers to disembark."
According to Feitelberg, both Clintons were attended by a number of "burly" secret service agents who "cooled their heels in nearby SUVs and periodically patrolled the street."
Secretary Clinton also went to designer and longtime Clinton pal Oscar de la Renta's showroom on Tuesday, says WWDEYE, though the piece has some conflicting information about whether or not Chelsea was with her. Feitelberg also takes the liberty to declare that Chelsea Clinton's wedding will be "leagues above her parents' considerably more meager nuptials." She goes on to say that Hillary Rodham "wore a granny-looking dress when she exchanged vows with Bill Clinton."
WWDEYE says that while designer Wang did not comment for the piece, she is "said to be designing the bridesmaids dresses as well as the flower girls' dresses."

This is why young people just run off and find a JOP and do it. These two people should be given their privacy just like any other couple. I'm so glad I was able to keep my wedding private lol.
Why do people get all gaga over all this ? Let the girl have a normal life and a happy wedding day. Don't you have a hobby or ANYTHING else to do. GET A LIFE OF YOUR OWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vera Wang made my dress many years ago before she became a household name. It's buried in our family's homestead attic somewhere. Maybe we should auction it off now that she has acquired "Go To" status for celebrity brides. Would sure help pay our bills in these hard economic times.
This is news??
Not sure why this is on the political ticker... but best wishes to her and congrats on her wedding.
I don't care and I'm a Democrat.
Enough with the watering down of topics of substance in this country.
This is not a tabloid website ... at least it is not suppose to be.
Its great to see this young woman happy.
Really. We going to have to read about everything and time this chick does something till she gets married?
You can put a pig in a designer gown but it is still a pig.
Why is she wearing that "guess who's under here" hat?
Sunglasses, ponytail, and baseball cap with a pair of crappy jeans, and voila! You're just another New Yorker!
Meanwhile, why IS this in the Ticker?
I wish them both the best of luck.
Just find it ironic that Hillary said "We (Americans) make too much money". Hinting to the fact that we should spread the wealth. Estimated to cost several thousand, a head, for this affair. Just hope they don't serve chicken.
May life bring much joy to all
3-5 million on a wedding, must be nice to be a poor Democrat lib scratching to protect the common hard working man! What a crock, the Clinton's are as slimy and as slippery as they come!
So happy for Chelsea, her soon to be husband and her proud parents.
Vera Wang is the best, she will be so beautiful. I hope we the public will get to see some pictures of her special day. She has always set a good example of how a young person should act. Her parents must be over the moon. They sure did a good job raising her.
The best to the whole family! We love the Clintons.

Oops . . . must have stumbled into the People Mag website by mistake!
I've noticed that lately people are annoyed if an item in this section isn't strickly in a political vein. Really, what difference does it make? If you don't want to read it,...don't. Some older folks don't take a newspaper {they keep upping the price and lowering the quantity} and they keep up on things this way.Why do some people just LOOK for something to complain about?
good luck chelsea
So what?
John Boehber was spotted on the golf course as he is every day and then at his orange-spraying tanning salon. After that hard day of "work", he can then be spotted at the bars with this other gay and adulterous Republicans. Boehner sure wears a lot of pink and is obsessed with his hair and makeup. He is useless and just a whiner.
Democrats WORK for the PEOPLE. Republicans party with their corporate buddies who buy their votes and only show up to Congress to vote NO and then back to golfing, mistresses, strip bars with Michael Steele, and telling lies on the newsless Fox. Such a rough life NOT serving the People!
We need more Democrats so we can help the middle class and working class families recover faster. Democrats DELIVER for the People and that is the leadership we want in our government.
Chelsea lose the hat please?
Again, who cares? Only those who do not have a life outside their blogs.
Leave her alone, for goodness sake!!
Chelsey is not asking for this publcity frenzy. The media is doing this - hey, it sells. Whether it's this couple or some other celebrity couple, people want to live vicariously, and either positively or negatively or viciously comment on matters that are none of their business.
Not sure why anyone would put themselves through all this drama. How can it possibly be pleasant? Just elope.
All the best Chelsea!
