Rangel throwing birthday gala

Rep. Charlie Rangel is having a birthday party in New York City next month.
Rep. Charlie Rangel is having a birthday party in New York City next month.

(CNN) – New York Rep. Charlie Rangel is embroiled in an ethics investigation that has already claimed his position as the chairman of a powerful House committee, but the 20-term congressman still wants to be re-elected.

The proof is in an invitation to a "birthday gala" being held at The Plaza Hotel in New York City that was sent to supporters Tuesday by Rangel's re-election campaign.

Former President Bill Clinton delivered his birthday wishes at the beginning of a video montage that accompanied the invitation. The video also touted a performance by The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

A minimum campaign contribution of $200 is required to attend the party as a "special guest," but the best seats will presumably be reserved for "Sponsors" who donate $2,500.

Maybe this tax cheat should have paid for it himself with the monies he never paid to the treasury for due taxes. Here he is as chairman of the tax writing committee who cheats on his taxes. He fits in with the nobummer administration who have a ton of people who cheat on their taxes. Typical demorat, tax everyone but do not tax me and my millionaire friends.

The republican song for this year's election should be, "Taking care of Business." It might go:
Taking care of big oil, every day, taking care of Wall Street, every way, Taking care of big banks. its so fine, taking bribes from businesses, and working overtime.

Rangel needs to fess up and resign. He is another crook that got caught. There are many in Congress who are unethical and enriching themselves. What goes around comes around. It is laughable how the rest of Congress is "neutral" on rangel. If it were a Republican the Democrat Mobs would be howling.
