(CNN) - Former Agriculture Department employee Shirley Sherrod said Thursday she will pursue a lawsuit against conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart.
Breitbart posted an edited video clip of Sherrod appearing to say she discriminated against a white farmer looking for assistance. The clip showed her addressing a chapter of the NAACP.
"I will definitely do it," she said when asked whether she was considering legal action. Sherrod made her remarks during an appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in San Diego, California.
Breitbart "had to know that he was targeting me," Sherrod said. "At this point, he hasn't apologized. I don't want it at this point, and he'll definitely hear from me."

Yes!!! And she should also sue Fox, Beck and the rest of the race baiters over there at the "fair and bs" entertainment, not news channel!
She should sue all of the lyiing, right-wing pigs and news outlets that contributed to this mess including Breitbart, Limbaugh, Beck, and Faux News.
No theres a shocker you didn't thnk she would do anything else did you.
If he doesn't appologize for making her life hell over a short clip, then he should be made to understand that; it cost her a job and her reputation. Because he failed to show the whole clip, he should be made aware of the problem of telling half truths.
Yes!! And she needs to sue Fox and all their race baiting racists too!
Breitbart and Fox Noise sure picked the wrong African/American to pick on didn't they? LMAO!
I hope you fry his lilly white butt!
If there's any justice, fat fairy Breitbart and his cohorts at Fox News will all end up living out of cardboard boxes.
She should also sue NCAAP as they had the full tape and still let her be fired.
Dutch/Bad Newz, VA – "Even better, shut down his website since it has proven to be a character destroyer"
Uh there is such a thing as Freedom of Speech. Or have you, like the rest of your fellow Liberal mouth breathers, convenientky forgotten that?
Good for her! This is the tried and true way to bring down corruption.
GI Joe – "She should sue Beck and Fox Noise also. Make the hate-mongers, the fear-mongers, the liars pay big time."
You have no proof to back up any of those idiotic assertions. You just spour Liberal Democrat talking points. Ever consider thinking for yourself before making one of your idiotinc posts?
she should sue his sorry butt for everything he has. this was a case of libel, slander and defamation of character. if not malicious on his part, it demonstrated a level of indifference to consequence that parallels criminal indifference
Sue him I wish he should charge under criminal law

How about she sues the people who actually fired her?!? This woman is awful."
THIS WOMAN IS AWFUL?????????????????????? not the scum who slandered her to the whole world? not the hypocrites on Fux Noise who screamed for her firing one day and slammed the Obama administration the next day for doing just what they called for to happen? yes, she was fired in haste, but i do believe the Obama administration will learn from this incident. does anyone in their right mind believe Fux and co. will ever learn anything? i hope there is some jail time for those involved in this, and not just civil penalties.
Put that charactor assassin out of business!
Um, he didn't fire her. He posted a video. She should sue Obama.
Anyone that tries to defend Breitbart is only proving Sherrod's case.
On behalf of the millions of Americans who were dubbed racist by Sherrod, I would be happy to join the class action suit against her, the NAACP, and the Obama White House.
You GO Shirley! Sue the rightwing neo-moron back to the Stone Age.
It won't be hard to do. He and his ilk already are, mentally and spiritually, Stone Agers. Now he can attain the Stone Age trifecta by becoming a financial Stone Ager.
Now let's see what all the apologists for the rightwing underbelly have to say about this on this thread....you can tell when they appear on here by the 'whooshing' sound made by the avergae IQ as it plummets.
Sue away... you can't win for posting a clip...
Sue your boss and the Obama administration for wrongful termination without cause... you can win that one
Malicious fabricators of Breitbart's kind should have begun to be sued a long time ago. Even the Times decision does not protect knowing or recklessly willful and wanton fabrications from defamation actions by their targets, however public a figure those targets may be. The reluctance to sue out of fear of only further publicizing the defamation has emboldened hatemongers and fearmastersto the point where no one's peace, dignity, or reputation is safe. If Senator Kerry had sued the Swiftboaters, Shirley Sherrod might have been spared, and if Ms. Sherrod prevails, the good names she saves may be our own.
See, I was right!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was planning on making money $$$$$ on the embarrassment she caused President Obama, NAACP, Fox News, Agriculture Dept., and her boss. That's why she made such a scandal. Told you she was no poor, timid, shy, innocent lady. She did file a lawsuit in which she & her husband made $300,000 from the $13 million the court awarded her lawsuit against the Agriculture Dept. in 1997. Sherrod was looking to get some attention she could turn into $$$$$$$$. She didn't want to stand her ground when she was asked to resign, she quickly resigned knowing she could make money $$$$$ on the mess she was going to cause. Sherrod should apologize to President Obama for causing him and his administration an embarrassing situation and then she should move on.
Good for her.
This irresponsible, radical so called blogger needs to be held responsible for his unAmerican actions.
Did you all realize the GOP has asked and of course he accepted this spreader of lies, anything to get attention dishonorable man to be a speaker at one of their fundraisers??
Shows how much they support integrity and honor, doesn't it.
Course, we already knew that.
Wow... such wonderful compassionate sentiment from CNN viewers. I have no love for Breitbart... I see little value in his type of "journalism", but I also feel the same way about the blatantly biased "main stream" media at times. However, I don't wish harm on anybody because they report, or outright fabricate, a story that offends my political sensibilities. You people need a serious reality check... the fact that you wish physical harm on people who don't conform to your particular world-view is scarey. It's indicative of an extremely low emotional intelligence and proof that the media has worked you people into a NASCAR fan-like mentality. Do you REALLY allow yourself to be that emotionally tormented by other things in life... or is it just politics and media with which you dont' agree?
Shirley: If you need funds to help, just let me know where to send a check.
