Clinton: Chelsea looks beautiful every day

(CNN) – Camera crews caught up with former President Bill Clinton on Friday in Rhinebeck, New York, the site of his daughter's upcoming wedding.

While he mostly kept quiet as he moved through the crowd that had gathered after his arrival, when asked by a reporter if he was excited, Clinton said "you bet"

The follow up question: "Is your daughter going to look beautiful?"

"She looks beautiful every day to me," Clinton said

There are reports of lavish spending on the wedding: seven figures, some reports say even eight figures.

But a longtime Clinton family friend pushes back, telling CNN National Correspondent Jessica Yellin the cost is actually less than $1 million. Regarding the many wedding planners who are guessing at the cost of Chelsea's wedding – this Clinton family friend tells CNN, "Maybe it's because these planners said they couldn't do it for less than 2 to 5 million – that's exactly why they weren't picked as the planner."

I hope that this marriage works out for her. I hope that tabloid stories about cheating already are untrue.

Amen Mr. President. She's grown up to be a beautiful and classy woman both inside and out. Though I wish her privacy, I hope there are pictures to share with the rest of us.

Congrats and I wish the best for you and your husband!

The Clintons should be very proud of their daughter, she turned out to be a wonderful woman. The terrible things Rush would say on his program about her as 12 year old child were disgusting but she is an amazing person and he is an old druggie, who bought himself another young wife.

Wow, asking a father if his daughter is going to look beautiful on her wedding day. Great question. Top notch journalism by that individual.

I was not always a fan of Clinton but he was a good President. Obama isn't fit to tie his shoes.

Clinton is a good Father to boot. God bless him and his family.

Can we please leave Chelsea alone? I'm no big fan of either of her parents, but Chelsea does not deserve this 3-ring media circus that's only because of who her parents are.

Never mind the question...ever daughter should have this kind of affirmation from their father. Obviously, the Clintons have been wonderful parents.

    Best wishes!

I was amazed that the Clinton's didn't even invite Obama. It would have been a huge hassle, and I wouldn't necessarily expect him to attend, but you'd think the Sec of State would invite the President to her daughter's wedding. The Clinton's must really despise Obama. Its looking more and more like Hillary will run in 2012!!!!

Who gives a rat's patuty? My dog "looks better every day." Chelsea wouldn't even look better if it was last call on the eve of alcohol prohibition! She looked more natural with makeup covering her Howdy Doody freckles.

Do we know anything about this event? Who's invited, who's not? How much this, how much that? Any of our business?

I wish the Clintons would disappear from public view and live their lives (and stop impacting mine with garbage 'progressive' policies). I'm tried of hearing Hillary spew stupidity to every foreign nation while Billy goes around trying to convince everyone that Obama is a smart guy that is looking out for us. It's garbage.

Luckily, Chelsea has been out of the public eye for several years. Good for her and good luck in marriage and life.

Just because Obama wasn't invited tothe wedding doesn't mean that the Clinton's hate him. How can anyone be so silly as to think that? Do you not realize that if Obama were at the wedding everything would turn upside down? All the gifts would have to be opened by security rather than the bride and groom. All the guests would have to be checked for weapons. Alot of the guests would be watching the President rather than the bride and groom. The Clinton's and Obama are all smart enough to know that and that is why Obama won't be there. It's bad enough to have one President there much less two. So stop jumping to conclusions as to why Obama won't be at the wedding. Use your head for something other than a hat rack.
