Washington (CNN) - President Obama gave his thoughts on Friday regarding the ethics investigation into New York Rep. Charlie Rangel.
"I think Charlie Rangel served a very long time and served– his constituents very well. But these allegations are very troubling," Obama said in an interview with CBS News' Harry Smith. "He's somebody who's at the end of his career. Eighty years old. I'm sure that what he wants is to be able to end his career with dignity. And my hope is that it happens." Obama added.
Obama's comments come just hours after the House ethics subcommittee recommended that Rangel be reprimanded.

In other words, Obama hopes his tax cheat plus buddy gets off. Doubt he'd be so generous if it was a Republican, but then again, Obama ceased being President to all of us a long time ago.
He should have read between the line long ago. Said enough.
Good thing he's not sick or Obama would be saying he's at the end of his life and the death panel wishes he would die with 'dignity'.
Would President Obama say that Representative Rangel acted stupidly or that he was misguided? Perhaps another beer summit with Dems and Repubs would iron things out.
Charlie Rangel is a CROOK and Obama needs to call it like it is.
Yes, quite troubling and it's been suggested that he be "reprimanded" ???
Of course, that would be sufficient right?? Good grief!!! No wonder the American people are so disgusted with Congress!!!!
I'm sure we'll find out that this is George Bush's fault...
