Washington (CNN) – A day after former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin suggested that voters had not allowed President Obama to be sufficiently scrutinized before putting him into the Oval Office, the Democratic National Committee is firing back and calling Palin "an expert in not being vetted."
In an appearance on Fox News Wednesday night, Palin essentially said Obama is not up to the task of holding the nation's highest office.
"I think he's quite complacent," the former Republican vice presidential hopeful said. "And I think he's in over his head. And I think he has poor advisers around him. And I think he's really in flux kind of when it comes to what his governing philosophy actually is. Some of this though is a result of he not having much experience and then a complicit media and maybe some voters who chose to not to allow him to be vetted very closely."
In a statement e-mailed to CNN, the DNC turned the tables on Palin, who had faced questions about the vetting process used by the Sen. John McCain's campaign to help select her in 2008.

"While former half-term governor Palin is certainly an expert in not being vetted, we put our trust in the judgment of the American people who rejected not only the broken policies she and Republicans continue to call for, but also this very kind of childish politics she continues to engage in," DNC national press secretary Hari Sevugan said. "What's been fully vetted and thoroughly rejected by the American people is the failed approach in tone and substance offered by Sarah Palin and her ilk."
Speaking last year, A.B. Culvahouse, the attorney tasked with leading the vetting process for McCain's running mate, said he thoroughly scrutinized Palin and "came away impressed."
Culvahouse also suggested that McCain had been attracted to the risks associated with picking Palin.
"I said, John, high risk, high reward," Culvahouse told an audience last year. "His response: you shouldn't have told me that. I've been a risk-taker all my life."

It's funny...she keeps saying "he's in over his head" as if when she repeats it enough, it will show up elsewhere and people will believe it. And so it has. But that still does not make it true. Just because the President doesn't don a flight suit, helicopter in, and leap onto the deck of a Navy ship under a banner shouting "Mission Accomplished" (which was a lie,) does not mean he is not governing. He is doing a great job on many fronts. I sincerely doubt we would be leaving Iraq under a McCain admin. I sincerely doubt the auto companies would be making a profit again under McCain leadership. I also doubt that Palin would be out there saying ANYTHING had they won. McCain would have given her some knitting to do and told her to stay away from the cameras. Imagine. Days and weeks without Sarah Palin's opinion on everything. Bliss. But then, she would have quit as soon as she realized she was not allowed to make money from the morons while VP. Although, there might have been a big VP daughter wedding at taxpayer expense before she quit.
Palin and the republican party is the GLORIFICATION OF IGNORANCE AND IT CONTINUES UNABATED. Go home and watch the Russians.
I would like to know why Palin is using words that are not in the dictionary ??? She says she can see Russia from her house what a joke. Thank God that She and her buddy did not get ellected.

All Democrats are idiots, vote Republican in 2010 and 2012. Sarah Palin is smarter then President Obama and most of the people who are submitting comments here.
a lot of people are qualified to run for president. very few people are qualified to be president. barack obama is definitely one of the latter.....not qualifed for the job!!
he s surrounded himself with people who think like him, work like him, and tell him what he wants to hear.................instead of what he NEEDS to hear. thats a formula for disaster and failure. a top guy needs to hear all points of view............the good, the bad, the ugly...........and then decide what the best course of action is. at least in those circumstances most downsides are identified before moving on.
and barack himself...........very inexperienced. as the media puts it............a community organizer. i m the first one to admit that i m not qualified to either run for president or to be president. but i also can say with complete confidence that barack is not the man for the job either.
time for the november 2012 elections.
Look who is talking about someone not being qualified for President! I guess if McCain and Palin were elected she would have resigned the VP office in mid term to make more money as a FOX news anaylist, and have someone write a book for her, to tell about all she contributed in her brief stay as VP. It amazes me the people who can't stand an intelligent man in the White House for a change. If nothing else he can put a declaritive sentence together without having Karl Rove write it down for him.
But not to worry the American people in their wisdom, and having the memory of a fruit fly will flock to the polls in the mid term and put the GOP back in control of the house and then do the same in 2012 with a GOP President. Then in four, or god forbid, eight more years of government expansion, war, and deficits we will once again come to our senses and throw them out.
John McCain is too vain, senile or stupid to admit that Sarah cost him the election. Had Mitt or Joe or Kay been tapped as his VP, the election would have been a lot closer.
YES, DNC!!! It's about time somebody let this "former 1/2 term" QUITTER have both barrels right between the eyes . . . . to use HER venacular!
I really thing Palin's obsession with Obama is becoming unhealthy. She is constantly projecting her own weaknesses off on the President as she pretends to be President on facebook and twitter. I use to think she was a middle school mean girl.... Now, she's acting like an elementary school mean girl who pretends to be President by having little hate parties on twitter, facebook and Faux News.
We can add basic anatomy and physiology to the list of areas where Palin is incompetent. Or, maybe her "mama grizzlies" are actually transsexuals? Otherwise, I can assure her they don't possess 'cojones'.
It's also ironic that she chose a Spanish term in relation to immigration. I'm sure Ms. Palin is quite content to have Spanish-speaking folks to do her dirty work, just as she obviously co-opts their language for her own purposes.
A prime example of Palin's ignorance is that she criticizes the President, and thus precipitates the inevitable comparison between herself and him. In that contest, she can't help but lose.
What do U mean BO is not qualified ??
BO is a perfect example why I should be president.
I agree with Dick's observation. A good looking half baked personalities made celebrities by our media that is prisoner to the rating games....
"Ms. Quitty-pants" I like that!!
And for the ones who 'like what Palin says', how can you tell?
Between the folks who support palin and palin herself, ...
who is really talking and who is/are the wooden dummies?
I've never met a person in public that told me that he/she supported palin and would pay to hear her 'speak?'.......
Maybe someone could start recording attendees to a palin speech, I'd like to know who they are and what they are hoping to possibly learn from this woman?
Hard to believe that the republican T party still view her as both a valued asset and a representative for their party.
GOP hypocrisy at its finest. I am for family values before I got caught hiring the DC hooker madame – says Senator Vitter. I am for amnesty and even co-sponsored the bill with President Bush – before I opposed amnesty – says Senator McCain. 1/2 term Gov. of Alaska seems to fit right in...have a nice day.
"Sister Sarah" is an ankle-biter. Like some poodle that attacks from behind and goes simpering off when stood up to.
Mean, self-indulgent, incapable of really sinking her teeth into anything.
Too bad she didn't go for a brain augmentation.
Silly Sarah . . . . once again opening her pie-hole and making sure she will NEVER get elected to another public office in this country EVER again! Divisive witch!
Obama is a genius compared to her... 1000 times more worthy to be president than she....
I almost feel embarrassed for her at the idiocy she displays in all seriousness... And then I think, 'Nah..' and just laugh..
What is there to vet? Open that skull and the resulting vaccum would take out four city blocks.
But it is good to see America being so progressive again, choosing a woman to head up the American branch of the Taliban.
Sarah Palin calling ANYBODY "in over their heads" is beyond comical. Not only is she astonishingly ignorant of even the most basic topics in U.S. politics and history, but she possesses not an iota of self awareness. Haven't we Americans learned our lesson from the Bush administration about the dangers of combining arrogance and ignorance in a position of great power? Repeat after me: Never Again!
Nicely said DNC–especially the "ilk" part!
You are so right, too – looking backwards and blaming for 1.5 years has done so much for us... BTW, has anyone hired you yet?
YIPPIE DO HO.....I wonder if a Brain Surgeon got a Can opener an open up this Can of Peas, how many Lived Brain Cells he would find in palin's Cranium?
Palin, take a look in the mirror. You're the one who wasn't properly vetted. You're an idiot parading around like someone who actually matters. Get out of the spotlight and go take care of your children. Keep them out of the tabliods...oh wait, money and your own personal gain is more important.
Go back to that wasteland Alaska with the rest of the red necks out there, and go shoot your precious elk from helicopters to make your precious chili.
Why does Palin, someone with a single-digit I.Q., keep getting written about in newspapers? Why do news outlets keep remarking on her speeches and outings as if she were relevant? If the news media absolutely must report on her every move, why don't they put them in the comics section where they belong?
