(CNN) - Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is responding to a YouTube video that shows her and her eldest daughter, Bristol, engaged in a spirited debate with a woman standing in front of a banner that reads: "Worst Governor Ever."
On her Facebook page, Palin reacts under a post titled "There You Go Again, LSM." She says the media (LSM is her abbreviation for the "lame stream media") is spinning the video of the encounter into something it is not. Palin lashes out at claims she rolled her eyes at the woman when she identified herself as a teacher.
"Yes, it's come to this: the media is now trying to turn my eyebrow movements into story lines. (Maybe that's why Botox is all the rage – if you can't move your eyebrows, your 'eye rolling' can't be misinterpreted!)" Palin writes.
Filming part of her Alaska documentary in Homer, Alaska, Palin writes she "had a brief discussion with a local lady who, in typical Alaska style, decided to give me her two cents worth about my political leanings, American politics in general, and much else besides."
In the video, the protester says to Palin, "You swore on your precious bible that you would uphold the interests of this state and then, when cash was waved in front of your face, you quit."
Palin immediately says, "Oh you want me to be your governor! Thank you."
"No," the woman responds, "I wanted you to honor your responsibilities."
As for the terse political discourse, Palin writes "It's what makes our politics so uniquely democratic: two people discussing the things they care about, even though they respectfully disagree about just about everything."

That woman managed to say in one short interview what all of us are thinking that Sarah sold out for the money. Sarah had not response to the woman. She basically sold out her responsibilites for money, simple as that.
I saw this clip and was pretty annoyed by Palin's response. The woman who confronted Palin was smart and stood her ground. Sarah Palin always repeats the same few lines; her talking points have zero subtance. She was talking to the woman as if was a toddler. Palin's daughter showed little restraint or respect. I don't know when Palin's show will run its course, but it's getting too old. She offers nothing and every second we waste showcasing her, a valuable outlet for something more meaningful is lost.
What you see in this video, the snarkiness of the Palin's, is nothing new to Alaskans. It's about time the Lower 48 see what that family is REALLY like.
definitely presidential material...philosophizing on eyebrows makes me think:
YES: this is a woman who can handle Putin, Amadinidaj (sp) and Bin Laden...if only she had completed ONE full term as Governor of alaska....thanks for the insight, half governor palin
Saw the video and I think there is no vagueness with Palin's response to hearing about the woman's occupation. It was a smug and condescending look that she gave. And as a former teacher, I find her response particularly insulting.
But what else do you expect in the US? The US is behind in math and science...American high school students cant even construct a proper sentence ....a sizeable portion of high school seniors wouldn't be able to locate Canada ON A MAP OF CANADA. Why? Because there is no emphasis on education and the importance of learning is frowned upon. It's just not "cool" to be educated and articulate.
There is a not-so-subtle dislike for intellectualism in the US and if you want proof of that, just look at the 2008 GOP vice-presidential candidate you betcha!
I don't hate Sarah Palin like many others. She is a typical politician of the day. No more ambitious than a man like Boehner or even Obama. She us who she is.
But the non-verbal exchange between her and her daughter was an obvious disapproval of the woman's vocation (teachers are often liberal?), and I have to say, I found it hit me in as offensive. I'm not even a teacher fan, we homeschool. It just bothered me because this is a working woman and one of her former constituents, and she deserved a listen. Not to mention Mrs. Palin's feigned reaction. That bothers me. Why not just be real?
You know, she did roll her eyes in a mocking way. She's an admirer of women she says has cojones... well this lady showed some by putting the banner up and confronting her. .
It must be the only 'pigs with lipstick' or 'mama grizzley' or women with 'cojones' are those that are on her side of the political spectrum... Not the right side, but the far out loonie fringe..
I'll vote for the teacher on this one over the Journalist, quitting governor and opportunist who uses words that don't exist!
Palin could be seen as the worst governor because she quit half way through her term that she was elected to fill. Didn't she raise spending without a way to cover it? She also appears to be an unthinking ideologue. She is someone who just spouts the party line without fully understanding what it means.
Yes, I think that every teacher should see the disparaging looks and nods that Palin and her family exchange when the woman reveals that she is a teacher. Their "oh, that explains it" looks reveal the low regard they hold for teachers. The exchange is very telling.
The woman is uncanny.Somehow she manages to get face time almost every day.Every one talks about her and posts about her.Granted it is mostly negative but it is still a lot of free publicity.I really wish she would go away She is such an embarassment to our country.
It really is too bad that Sarah Palin continues to try to represent America. I often wonder what the world thinks of her.
Hooray for the Lady protestor – Everybody forgets that this
woman(Sarah Palin) resigned after only 2 years as Governor.
She has the audacity to criticize Pres. Obama – concerning
incompetence. This man has more knowledge in his
pinky than she has in her entire brain.
Geeze – overreact much? And we are supposed to just trust she would be cool and calm in dealing with the likes of Ahmedinijad?
I don't trust her to be calm and cool enough to deal with a barrista who messed up the order much less some whacko dictator.
sarah is always on you and yours. I see your true colors and don't like what I see...
I didn't know YouTube was part of the lamestream media.
This woman had an honest complaint one that i share, that she was elected to serve her term in alaska, and she chose to hit the high road and fight for the constitution. I am so sick of hearing protect the consitution. It was intended to be a living document so that it could protect its growing country. It s sanctity is in its ability to change as we change.
This teacher is my new hero. And Sarah, for the love of God! It's deal, d e a l, like eel with a d in the front, not dill. Feel, real, peel, meal, seal, zeal, teal, kneel – the k is silent.
Dear precious Saint Sarah whines about the mean press when they discuss her supposed 'eye roll', but she never says a single thing about the substance of the woman's actual complaint. If this is how she would respond to a lukewarm rebuke of her lack of ability, perhaps we are all a bit better off she is little more than a GOP sideshow act...
Sarah is a nasty piece of work and so is her ill mannered daughter. The video clearly shows Sarah rolling her eyes and dismissing this woman with rude gestures, as if there is something wrong with being a teacher.
Disgusting!!
She rolled her eyes. Stevie Wonder could see that. What should be noted though is how her voice still sounds like fingernails on chalkboard... it really is terrible.
Let's hope Palin doesn't run for President. Should she ever win, it would be like the Beverly Hillbillies going to Washington. Kudos to the protester for standing up to Palin and not backing down!
I just love it that Sarah Palin can dish it out.....but she sure in the heck can't take it can she? She had no problem "dissing" on the president's anatomy but when someone does something similar to her she whines about the EVIL LEFT WING MEDIA! Sarah your act is getting old and it will continue to do so as long as the Evil left wing media reports it.
The banner tells the truth, she can't take the truth!!!!!!! Remember she's ALL SHOW!!!
Uh, Sarah – You Tube is NOT the media. But, hey, if it makes you feel better in your make-believe world of "everyone is out to get me!" then godspeed.
