Indiana Democrat lumps Obama with Pelosi, Boehner

Indiana Rep. Joe Donnelly released a new ad on Monday.
Indiana Rep. Joe Donnelly released a new ad on Monday.

(CNN) - Moderate Indiana Democrat Joe Donnelly released a new ad Monday that lumps President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Minority Leader John Boehner together, labeling all three: "the Washington crowd."

The 30-second spot focuses on illegal immigration and highlights Donnelly's position on the hot-button issue.

" … I voted to hire 5,300 more border agents, penalize any business that hires illegals, deport illegals who commit felonies and eliminate amnesty, because no one should ever be rewarded for breaking the law," Donnelly says.

"That may not be what the Washington crowd wants but I don't work for them, I work for you," Donnelly adds.

Donnelly's general consultant responsible for the ad buy said his candidate's willingness to buck Obama and party leaders is what makes him a viable candidate.

"Voters see the leaders of both political parties in Washington as being to blame for an atmosphere that is oftentimes too partisan and frustratingly ineffective," Bob Doyle said in a statement provided to CNN. "It's Joe's independence that sets him apart from the Washington crowd."

Republican State Rep. Jackie Walorski is challenging Donnelly for his seat. Donnelly is seeking a third term in office; he won re-election in 2008 with 67 percent of the vote.

Hey Donnelly – Do you REALLY think that **anyone** with a brain cell is going to confuse the rhetoric and positions of John Boehner with those of Barak Obama and Nancy Pelosi? REALLY!?

Oh what's that? You're NOT targeting the crowd with brain cells? You're targeting Republicans?

    Nevermind – you're good.

If you had no food and were starving, what part of yourself would you sell to stay alive?

If your children were sick and starving and you had no job, what work would you take to provide them with the necessities?

Now, if you had a nice cushy job in Washington, what would you say to keep it?

"I'm not a part of the Washington crowd."

...he said, as he ran for a third term in Congress.

He will do anything to win. All of us needs to realize that President Obama did not get were he is by a flute. God has his hands all over it. Near the end of time a dark skin race of people will raise to power and stardom. You better be careful about what you are saying and doing. No weapons against a God fearing man will prosper.

Actually Pelosi has more leadership abilities than Obama. That's why he's left the task of driving his agenda forward to her. But they're both worthless.

Another imbecile bashing Washington, yet still running so he can go there and ultimately become one of those very people who he's pretending to be different from. Don't people ever get tired of that same tired line over and over again?

The failing special interest ruled system is going to eventually cause this truly great country to eventually collapse. It's so sad that all we had to send to Washington were just the same idiots pretending to "work for us and not Washington" and really were just full of crap.

Joe shame on you for comparing that corporate puppet Boehner to Obama. Especially as a Democrat. Shows you are a typical politician who'll say anything, including insulting your own President from your own party. Idiot, I hope you lose. Would rather have a Republican insulting Obama and win rather than a coward Democrat.

The border of what? Indiana? You moron. This must be a huge issue for Hoosiers. This guy is not a Democrat, and he seems to be mentally challanged.

You can't fault a man for having his own convictions. I'm sure there are many in this nation who agree with him. This illegal immigration issue has been ignored since the days of Reagan and by every president since.
