Quayle son gets harsh on Obama

Quayle is out with a dramatic new ad bashing Obama.
Quayle is out with a dramatic new ad bashing Obama.

(CNN) - Ben Quayle, the son of former Vice President Dan Quayle who is seeking a House seat in Arizona, is making a splash with a new campaign ad in which he looks straight into the camera and declares, "Barack Obama is the worst president in history."

"My generation will inherit a weakened country," Quayle also says solemnly in the new 30-second spot. "Drug cartels in Mexico, tax cartels in DC. What's happened to America? I love Arizona. I was raised right. Someone needs to go to Washington and knock the hell out of the place."

Quayle, the 33-year-old son of the former vice president, is one of 10 Republicans seeking the GOP nomination for the third district House seat of retiring Rep. John Shadegg. The Republican-leaning district primarily encompasses Phoenix and its surrounding suburbs.

Quayle recently ran into controversy after admitting to having posted on the controversial website DirtyScottsdale.com four years ago. The racy website features scantily clad women and focuses on profiling the Scottsdale nightclub scene. Quayle told a local TV station Tuesday he posted on the website on behalf of a friend to "drive some traffic."

The primary will be held on August 24.

    This is RIDICULOUS!

Of all of the crap that GW Bush left us –
2 wars, a crumbling financial system, crumbling infrastructure, an ongoing addition to carbon-based fuels, out-of-control climate change, a conservative-led activist Supreme Court favoring corporate America over democracy, damaged international relationships and reputation, and an education system that is becoming even more prohibitively costly, and the 'Son of Dan' has the gumption to say that Obama is the worst in history?!?!!!! I mean, OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE!

Obama was handed this mess and is now working to clean it up. Returning to a Republican Congress and Executive Branch would only further delay the change the country desperately needs!

    Obama 2012!

Every president is the worst to someone...

Just focus on the issues and what you would do to turn the country around. Nitwit.

It would be most interesting to know if Mr. Quayle served in the military. He must have selective amnesia to forget the prime fiasco known as the Bush administration. Does it get any worse than GWB? In my opinion, the Republican party left the country in such a mess that I was unsure if even God could restore the damages they did. Obama inherited a hell of a mess from Bush. Mr. Quayle, you are as inept and as stupid as your father. You sir, also, are no John F. Kennedy.

Wait, wait, wait... the son of Dan Quayle, DAN QUAYLE, one of the absolute biggest morons to ever hold high office in the country, actually has the gall to call our current president the worst in history? Is this satire? Am I reading The Onion right now? This has to be a joke. There's no way he's dumb enough to say this sans irony. There's no way he... nope, wait, I take that back. This is a Quayle we're talking about here. Remember, "...what a waste it is to lose one's mind or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is."

    Right sonny boy....

With Obama as Prez...we actually have *real* countries that want to work with US again. Not like Bush and his "coalition of the willing" – more like the "coalition of the blackmailed and bribed" little no-named countries.

Drug cartels and immigration? Umm...the status quo is still the same as what Obama inherited from 8 years of Bush/GOP. If you haven't noticed, Obama's been a little busy with other more pressing priorities – like the war and recession he inherited.

Mr. Quayle, like so many other Republicans today, choses to ignore the ink of history. Our nation did not start down a slippery slope the day President Obama took office, and the arrogence and ignorance of those who say it did is insulting to us all. If anyone is to blame for 'bankrupting' our nation, it is the Republicans who deliberately went to war. The money spent on that immoral war would be enough to fund healthcare for years to come. Mr. Quayle is, in my opinion, a hypocrite.....and not a very bright one at that. Like father, like son. (oh, by the way, what ever happened to Dan Quayle? Oh, yes, I forgot, history recorded him a baffoon then forgot him. Quayle Jr. will probably suffer the same fate.

Once and for all, to all you Republican simpletons who see things in convenient black and white: It will take ANY human being more than a year and a half to undo all the catastrophic damage that the previous 8 years (plus four between 88-92) have done!!! And to be honest, at this point, if none of you really want to stay objective and see this, then to Hell with all of you. YOU are what America has been reduced to.
PS- I'm not even a Democrat!!

The fact that this sort of rhetoric gets any political traction just goes to show how blind our country is becoming. All this destruction over the last decade, almost ending in a global economic disaster during the transition of the presidency, and somehow this guy has the "cojones" to call Obama the worst!? What is wrong with this country???!!!

Yes, there were no problems under the Bush SR. or JR. regimes....Where does the tea party come up with these spoiled little jerks. First Rand Paul and now baby Quayle....you can't be serious!

Alright kid, Like president W Bush, you are where you are because of your father. Appreciate your silver spoon, shut your mouth so the spoon doesn't fall out. On a serious note, do some research before making outrageous claims

You can tell he's a Quayle, just listen to the guy:

"Drug Cartels in Mexico...What's happened to America?"

    Someone deport this guy.

Where was he during the Bush years? American's have such a short memory. The problems this country is facing can be traced back 3 presidencies. There is much blame that can be placed on Clinton, Bush and Alan Greenspan. Is Obama perfect, hell no. But look at your history before jumping on the anti-Obama bandwagon!

This is what scares me...young kids running for offices that they are horribly unqualified for, all on the basis of hatred. Obama literally saved the country from a depression, and this kid ignores that fact to promote his own anti-Obama campaign. Please Quayle, get some sense and don't end up like your father.

Mr. Quayle needs a lesson in history. The "worst President" label belongs to William G. Harding, Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, and George W. Bush. Does that mean W. was also responsible for the increase in drug cartels in Mexico or Columbia or Afghanistan? Bush weakened our country and Obama has to spend money to stimulate the economy.

  20. Can't We All Just Get Along?

What planet is this guy from? Sheesh!

What is it with these republicans? Are they living in some fantasy land that they really don't know that GWB was the WORST president in history and Barack Obama will be remembered as one of the better presidents?

Then again, maybe it's the republicans' way of not admitting fault since they're the ones who practically destroyed America and let Bush/Cheney do whatever they wanted. They rubberstamped everything Bush wanted to do and thought he could walk on water. Well, guess what? Bush was not the second coming although he could be one of the antichrists. Bush did so much damage, it'll take years to get America out of it.

Oh, and Ben? I remember your father as VP. Not only could he not spell "potato," he got upset at a fictional character! Talk about lunacy on the republicans' part! We all had a good laugh at your dad because of his inanity - so did Murphy Brown.

But don't worry - America is well aware of how delusional the republicans are, and since you're a republican, you're falling into the same delusional pit as Rush, Palin, Beck and the rest of the Crazy Crew.

  21. Enough is Enough

History will show that Obama was:

    Protrial lawyer
    Pro Union
    Proillegal

All of these groups hurt our economy

I agree that he will prove to be the worst president in history.
