Quayle son gets harsh on Obama

Quayle is out with a dramatic new ad bashing Obama.
Quayle is out with a dramatic new ad bashing Obama.

(CNN) - Ben Quayle, the son of former Vice President Dan Quayle who is seeking a House seat in Arizona, is making a splash with a new campaign ad in which he looks straight into the camera and declares, "Barack Obama is the worst president in history."

"My generation will inherit a weakened country," Quayle also says solemnly in the new 30-second spot. "Drug cartels in Mexico, tax cartels in DC. What's happened to America? I love Arizona. I was raised right. Someone needs to go to Washington and knock the hell out of the place."

Quayle, the 33-year-old son of the former vice president, is one of 10 Republicans seeking the GOP nomination for the third district House seat of retiring Rep. John Shadegg. The Republican-leaning district primarily encompasses Phoenix and its surrounding suburbs.

Quayle recently ran into controversy after admitting to having posted on the controversial website DirtyScottsdale.com four years ago. The racy website features scantily clad women and focuses on profiling the Scottsdale nightclub scene. Quayle told a local TV station Tuesday he posted on the website on behalf of a friend to "drive some traffic."

The primary will be held on August 24.

This man should be ashamed of himself for sprouting such bull. If President Obama is the worst president, what does he consider Bush who left such a mess for President Obama to attempt to clean-up, while having to fight racism and the GOP of no every step of the way. God knows the truth and that's what's important. There is still much faith in and love for President Obama

How can the GOP act as if what our country is struggling with today is the result of Obama? We were ALREADY in the financial crisis when he was elected! The massive debt we have isn't because of his actions, it is because the GOP messed up our economy so bad drastic actions were necessary.

Someone needs to tell him that illegal immigration has dropped during the 2 years Obama has been in office, and that crime in Arizona has gone down. What facts the GOP will ignore to score political points!

Probably speaks Latin as well as his father too. Will make him a valuable asset to the government in our dealings with Latin America! I suppose that huge debt will exclude the trillions that the Republicans spent in their quest to make Arab countries good Christian democracies.

To say this idiot is chip off the old block would be an insult to even Dan (can't find my a$$ with both hands) Quayle!

Why is this newsworthy? And worth a headline on cnn.com? I don't think so. These types of non-stories pitched to us as stories only fuel unwarranted anger towards the Obama administration and serve to make it seem that the majority of Americans feel this way–when that isn't the case at all!

hello Ben, welcome to the news....its good to see your testicles have finally dropped and you found your voice....

be careful about throwing rocks at people who have been chosen by us to clean up the mess from your parties antics...we are all Americans and we are in this together...keep in mind your current back yard and the issues facing your visitors who want to become citizens...once you have your own affairs in order, then by all means, join the conversation and efforts to better America....

just a parting note of experience, son....the rest of us have good memories and some of us keep notes on the antics of people like yourself that seek fame and attention from trying to be clever using your daddy's name....keep it clean and make friends or you might be sent to the little table again come dinner time

Like father like son, I am afraid. Like mother like son, I fear.

Please Ben, don't "pull a Clinton" on us. Please Ben, no "family values" talk. Please Ben, stay out of politics. The Republicans have raped, pillaged, and plundered my country (and many other countries) enough. We don't need more corporate worshippers in politics.

    Please Ben....

What a dweeb, Bush may have been the worst in history, Obama though is far from the worst. And by the way Obama has already done more to secure the border than either Bush did and certainly more than Reagan did. Maybe a rich SOB like yourself whose Daddy still tucks him in bed may see a tax increase with Obama the average person has seen a decrease. Also the country is safer under Obama than Bush whose ineptitute was responsible for the killing of thousands.

Lori...He may know nothing about history, but you should educate yourself with the present. Obama has increased gov't spending. I'm not saying he is the worst in history, but don't act like all the problems with our country is/was inherited.

The idea that Obama is the worst president in history is the most idiotic right wing bunk I've ever heard, particularly coming on the heels of a presidency that inflated our national debt by the biggest margin ever, ruined our reputation on the world stage, invaded a sovereign nation on bogus intelligence and took more vacation time than an chief executive prior to him, but I've gotten use to Republicans and their selective amnesia.

    Keith,
Don't be silly, that was obviously a slip of the tongue from a brilliant man and great President. Not out and out lies or stupidity like some people we know.

Congratulations to Obama, achieving this Worst Ever distinction while serving just shy of 19 months in office. Thank goodness we don't have to look at the long view of things anymore.

Truman left office with low approval ratings, but his unpopular decisions turned out to be the right things in the long run, and he's consistently hailed as one of our great presidents.

Time will judge Obama, Mr. Quayle. You don't have the luxury of perspective, but I suppose generalizing like a sidewalk preacher will garner you some measure of attention in the short term. If you have something constructive to say, say it. Frankly, if you come across as a level-headed Republican with sensible values, you've got a leg up on your in-party competition already.

@Erin in Denver>>>Bush bankrupt this country, when he came into office we were surplus and he in 8yrs destroyed us. Obama is doing more then any president in this short term.

It will take spending money to keep us aflow and not sink us farther into a recession. Have you ever heard to make money is to spend money?

    @ Eric in Denver,

If you can;t figure out why Obama spent as much as he did then you are even more stupid than Bush, need I say more.

Obama spent what he spent to save this country for the likes of you who do not deserve it, when you ruin a country for eight years and spend all that money on nothing, then you need to spend to fix it, you need to get a brain surgery to be able to understand this.
