(CNN) – New York Democrat Charlie Rangel, under fire for alleged financial wrongdoing and harming the credibility of Congress, defiantly declared Thursday that nothing "will stop me from clearing my name from these vile and vicious charges."
Among other things, Rangel has been accused of using his influence to solicit donations for a college policy center bearing his name from corporate heads and others with business before the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.

just get rid of this old junk, and pass Senate and Congress Term limits...period....just because of senator, or congress man, they should not lie, or embezzle...It is the time for passing Term limits for senate and congress....so that we can clean this junk....
There should be a ZERO tolerance for any of these criminals.
It should not matter whether they are republicans, democrats, or independents.

I firmly believe that the US Congress is the last place in our country that a member would complain about unfairness.
If some people doubt about fairness of the Congress in treatment of its member, I think the Congress should clear this matter first before going forward with Rangel situation.
Allegations of unfairness in the US Congress is far a more serious issue than allegations against Mr. Rangel.
Ms Pelosi, in fact everyone in Congress, should take it upon themselves to out Mr. Rangel. Now.
Rangel is clearly showing his sense of entitlement, of special privilege, and sense of all-for-me-an attitude that explains many of his past "successes" as well as failures as a person.
To the Democratic Party: This is not Obama's doing. Couple Rangle/Waters' behaviors with the spineless, over-the-top shakiness of Sen Reid, and it is no wonder the Party has come to be portrayed as ineffectual at best, and corrupt by too many. Things are no better on the Republican side, but WE said we would drain the swamp. What are we waiting for???

I have voted democrat my entire life but it is because of Rangel and Maxine Waters who are corrupt, liars, thieves, and rasicts, that I will never vote democrat again. To think that my tax dollars were going to buy his villa in the Dominican Republic makes me sick, or to think that my tax dollars went to put money in Maxine Waters pockets because she was going to lose it on bad investments makes me more sick.

I personally believe that he is too old to be a congressman and as I have said before, they need to put term limits on those positions. I will wait and see what the investigation shows before I pass judgment.

It's all politics – the republicans are dragging their feet to make Rangel and Waters go until just before mid-terms - guess it's fair for the democrats to drag their feet on the republicans until year after next.
He's no different from Pelosi, Boxer, Reid, Obama, Waters, Frank, Dodd,.... He cares more for his job and party than he does for the people of the USA.
