(CNN) – Republican congressional candidate Ben Quayle put out a television ad last Wednesday in which he stared into the camera and solemnly declared that "Barack Obama is the worst president in history."
On Monday, Quayle lined up nine reasons why, in his opinion, he believes Obama is the worst.
Included on the list are the assertions that Obama has "destroyed more wealth than any human being in history" and that he has "divided America along racial lines in destructive ways."
The list did not include any evidence to back up Quayle's claims.
Read the list after the jump:
Quayle, the son of former Vice President Dan Quayle, is one of 10 Republicans vying for the GOP nomination for the third House district. Rep. John Shadegg announced in January that he was retiring and would not seek re-election.
Shadegg's former chief of staff, Sean Noble, announced on his political blog Monday his endorsement of Steve Moak, one of Quayle's nine opponents for the congressional seat.
"Steve Moak is not a fraud like another candidate in the race that is trying to trade on the family name to get elected to a position that he would squander," Noble wrote, seemingly referencing Quayle. "CD [Congressional district] 3 deserves to be represented by the adult in the race."
Quayle's campaign issued a statement Monday night in response to Noble's endorsement.
"Mr. Moak has already hidden behind his non-profit; now he hides behind his campaign consultant," said Quayle campaign spokeswoman Meghan Rose. "He needs to stop hiding, stop hurling hollow insults and start answering some tough questions about his use of a non-profit to make himself a wealthy man and his concealment of the scheme from the IRS."
The primary will be held on August 24.

Reasons why President Obama is the Worst President in History1. He has loaded up every child in this nation with more debt than any President in history.
2. With his policies and the threat of more such policy, he has destroyed more wealth than any human being in history, which is always what happens when you set out to redistribute wealth: you end up destroying it.
3. He has brought us to the brink of the most massive tax increases in history and if we don't elect enough Republicans in November to stop him that is exactly what we will get.
4. He has forced through legislation without a single republican vote that may well destroy the finest health care system in history when all we needed were some measures to control costs.
5. He has divided America along racial lines in destructive ways and he is doing so again by suing Arizona over its attempt to control the drug trade and human smuggling trade threatening its security.
6. He has failed to form a policy to adequately deal with the vicious Mexican drug cartels that are essentially running parts of that nation and becoming an increasing threat to ours.
7. He has traveled the world making apologies for America instead of defending its timeless and treasured ideals of freedom and peace for all nations of good will.
8. He has said there is nothing exceptional about America, something no other president has ever said and something which alone suggests he is a historically poor president.
9. He has hired people of strange and radical views to hold important federal posts in which they pursue more bad policy that no administration in history has ever pursued.

i think that this guy needs a club over the head by the grammar police.
Quayle is a spoiled punk!
Now there is somone with a lot of credibility and gravitas – the silver spoon son of the stupidest VP in our nation's history. What else does he have opinions on?
"The list did not include any evidence to back up Quayle's claims." Yep, typical Republican stance: Make an outlandish statement and watch the uneducated lemmings flock to it. Coming from the son of the WORST VP in American History, this is more like a Saturday Night Live skit.
This Quayle is as dumbb as his father. Maybe even dumbber.
There is no doubt that Mr. Quayle has been raised well (as he claims it himself); however, it seems like he has mastered his public speaking skills under a direct observation and supervision of Mr. Quayle senior.
First sarah Palin , now the SON of her 80's version speaks out, Is the Republican party that dumb to allow these dimwits to speak publicly? Is Palins daughter going to be the next "shining star" for the repubs?
Obama is a middle of the pack president when looked at historically.
Bush is one of the top 5 worst.
He is guilty of everything on Quayle's list.
Too bad Quayle is too racist and hypocritical to see the truth, like 85-90% of republicans.
Most true Americans agree with Quayle, obama is real a looser !!! People in his own party are avoiding him .
I guess you get elected by producing nonsense like this. The more surprising fact is CNN prints this stuff as news.
you lie Mr. Ben..i think you are a joke
Who would have thought it possible there was a Quayle dumber than Dan? Apparently the apple did not fall far from the tree.
I am surprised he had time to make the list... or even noticed anything was wrong while he was ghost writing for thedirty.com.
If anyone takes this bozo seriously, that person is an idiot.
This novice is even dumber than his dad, who at least had some experience before extolling a list of unsupported, conclusory criticisms of a president and Congress
No matter what Ben Quayle says, his father will always be the dumbest Vice President in US history. Now if John McCain had won in 2008, Sarah Palin would've been in strong contention for that title.
He thinks Obama has divided the country along racial lines...and who will heal the wounds Mr. Quayle? Another white man?
Wow. This guy makes his father look smart. Nice job blaming Obama for our racial divide. Genuinely disgusting stuff.
What an idiot.
Where is this guy coming from? Has he forgotten the reign of terrible leadership headed by the White House resident George Walker Bush, who has already been determined to be the worst pResident in history and held his destructive occupation of the Office of President from 2001 to 2009? It is this short sighted, poor memory approach to journalism that is destroying this country. First a town in Texas looses it's idiot and the world suffers, then the bumbling son of a bumbling Vice President hopes we will all forget the past (recent at that), in hopes of adopting his warped memory as a stepping stone to a position of authority. No, this is another mistake called Quayle and we can not afford another mistake – especially one called Quayle.
tell me again ... why do we care about this kid's unsubstantiated opinions? The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree ... his father wasn't exactly a shining star back in the day either. Another Repub opportunist trying to capitalize on the name ... like ... uh?? Bush!!
So I guess when you inherit a dirty house the mess is all your fault
"The list did not include any evidence to back up Quayle's claims."
This says it all. He's nothing more than a typical Republican idiot who is all bluaster and no brains, no solutions, no class, and no character. Then again, look at who his father is. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Dumb and dumber...
Here's a hint, Quayle, try using FACTS to back up your assertions. Anyone can write an opinion list, but the FACT that you didn't even attempt to prove your assertions renders you unfit to hold political office at this time.
The only thing more pathetic than this a-hole is CNN for putting him in the spotlight
Quayle is a idiot!!!
