Quayle doubles down on Obama being 'the worst'

Arizona congressional candidate Ben Quayle on Monday released a list of nine reasons why he says President Obama is the 'worst president in history.'
Arizona congressional candidate Ben Quayle on Monday released a list of nine reasons why he says President Obama is the 'worst president in history.'

(CNN) – Republican congressional candidate Ben Quayle put out a television ad last Wednesday in which he stared into the camera and solemnly declared that "Barack Obama is the worst president in history."

On Monday, Quayle lined up nine reasons why, in his opinion, he believes Obama is the worst.

Included on the list are the assertions that Obama has "destroyed more wealth than any human being in history" and that he has "divided America along racial lines in destructive ways."

The list did not include any evidence to back up Quayle's claims.

Read the list after the jump:

Quayle, the son of former Vice President Dan Quayle, is one of 10 Republicans vying for the GOP nomination for the third House district. Rep. John Shadegg announced in January that he was retiring and would not seek re-election.

Shadegg's former chief of staff, Sean Noble, announced on his political blog Monday his endorsement of Steve Moak, one of Quayle's nine opponents for the congressional seat.

"Steve Moak is not a fraud like another candidate in the race that is trying to trade on the family name to get elected to a position that he would squander," Noble wrote, seemingly referencing Quayle. "CD [Congressional district] 3 deserves to be represented by the adult in the race."

Quayle's campaign issued a statement Monday night in response to Noble's endorsement.

"Mr. Moak has already hidden behind his non-profit; now he hides behind his campaign consultant," said Quayle campaign spokeswoman Meghan Rose. "He needs to stop hiding, stop hurling hollow insults and start answering some tough questions about his use of a non-profit to make himself a wealthy man and his concealment of the scheme from the IRS."

The primary will be held on August 24.

Reasons why President Obama is the Worst President in History

1. He has loaded up every child in this nation with more debt than any President in history.
2. With his policies and the threat of more such policy, he has destroyed more wealth than any human being in history, which is always what happens when you set out to redistribute wealth: you end up destroying it.
3. He has brought us to the brink of the most massive tax increases in history and if we don't elect enough Republicans in November to stop him that is exactly what we will get.
4. He has forced through legislation without a single republican vote that may well destroy the finest health care system in history when all we needed were some measures to control costs.
5. He has divided America along racial lines in destructive ways and he is doing so again by suing Arizona over its attempt to control the drug trade and human smuggling trade threatening its security.
6. He has failed to form a policy to adequately deal with the vicious Mexican drug cartels that are essentially running parts of that nation and becoming an increasing threat to ours.
7. He has traveled the world making apologies for America instead of defending its timeless and treasured ideals of freedom and peace for all nations of good will.
8. He has said there is nothing exceptional about America, something no other president has ever said and something which alone suggests he is a historically poor president.
9. He has hired people of strange and radical views to hold important federal posts in which they pursue more bad policy that no administration in history has ever pursued.

He is so out of touch with reality and current history. He would be an excellent V.P for Sarah Palin.

Please, please, please: there are serious grown-up matters to consider here! This little fool is up 'way past his bedtime. Listen, get real: this misguided little know-nothing punk is shooting off his mouth just to gain some noteriety. Let's not indulge him by giving him any attention. There is NO story here, CNN - this is just someone of no substance or character and we should pay him no mind.

Back your statements with facts. If Ben you cannot do that then like Dan Quayle (your father) you will be called a fool. Dan could not spell and you cannot produce facts.
looks like educationally you are similar to your famous Father Dan Quai.

Kinda like dad- not the sharpest tool in the shed. And then, an ankle-biter, gratuitously attacking a President who's quite beyond him.
He doth project too much, ascribing to Mr. Obama the products of previous administration and Republican representatives.
Maybe Ben should read up on Presidents like Johnson, Fillmore, Buchanan, and Herbert Hoover. Like, search on "Hoovervilles" which it seems he'd rather we have, rather than aggressive economic action.

Does Ben feel that he can make this claim since his father was known for being the dumbest vice president. I wonder if Ben can spell potato?

here are nine reasons why this man should never be elected to any office.
    1. he is an idiot child from an idiot parent.
    2. he is an idiot who lives in Az
    3. he is an idiot
    3. he is an idiot with no proof to back up anything so that also makes him a liar.
    4. He probably found the two kids in his campaign ad on the internet. that also makes him a liar he has no kids.
    5. he is depraved and dilusional. don't follow the sex cites then lie about it.
    6. he did not scream about immigration when it was a problem while bush was in office.
7, he is still an idiot
8 i think he is un-American there i said it so it must be true.
    9. I think he needs to have the same health care that Americans have that cancel policies and refuses coverage. If he thinks it is a perfect health care system he is a bigger idiot....see Scott running for FL Gov.. He ripped off medicare, medicaid and policiy holders so I am pretty sure they would not contain cost. Cnn has yet to post my comments.

Where was this guy when George W Bush was in office. GWB incareased our national debt 7 trillion dollars (more then the last 43 presidents together) and gave us the largest recession in the history of this country and Ben Quayle says Obama is the worst. What rock is this guy sleeping under for past 10 years? More politics by the right wing and less interest in making this country better.

Oh, give me a break! He is just going after the "Obama Haters."

Most Americans are intelligent enough to know that President Obama took office AFTER the economy had been destroyed by 8 years of Republican control.

I would hope that most people would realize that The President cannot fix in one year what took 8 years to make. Especially when is TRYING to work WITH the Party of No!

Well, being the son of Dan Quayle certainly puts him in the position of having first-hand knowledge of miserably-inept politicians. I would encourage candidate Quayle, who clearly inherited his father's intelligence genes, to take time to think before posting such drivel. At a minimum, he should understand that Barack Obama wasn't President from 2000 through 2008, when the economic collapse was set in motion.

While he is playing a close second, at the moment, he still hasn't been as bad as Jimmy Carter.

Of course, you are too young to remember those years.
