Quayle doubles down on Obama being 'the worst'

Arizona congressional candidate Ben Quayle on Monday released a list of nine reasons why he says President Obama is the 'worst president in history.'
Arizona congressional candidate Ben Quayle on Monday released a list of nine reasons why he says President Obama is the 'worst president in history.'

(CNN) – Republican congressional candidate Ben Quayle put out a television ad last Wednesday in which he stared into the camera and solemnly declared that "Barack Obama is the worst president in history."

On Monday, Quayle lined up nine reasons why, in his opinion, he believes Obama is the worst.

Included on the list are the assertions that Obama has "destroyed more wealth than any human being in history" and that he has "divided America along racial lines in destructive ways."

The list did not include any evidence to back up Quayle's claims.

Read the list after the jump:

Quayle, the son of former Vice President Dan Quayle, is one of 10 Republicans vying for the GOP nomination for the third House district. Rep. John Shadegg announced in January that he was retiring and would not seek re-election.

Shadegg's former chief of staff, Sean Noble, announced on his political blog Monday his endorsement of Steve Moak, one of Quayle's nine opponents for the congressional seat.

"Steve Moak is not a fraud like another candidate in the race that is trying to trade on the family name to get elected to a position that he would squander," Noble wrote, seemingly referencing Quayle. "CD [Congressional district] 3 deserves to be represented by the adult in the race."

Quayle's campaign issued a statement Monday night in response to Noble's endorsement.

"Mr. Moak has already hidden behind his non-profit; now he hides behind his campaign consultant," said Quayle campaign spokeswoman Meghan Rose. "He needs to stop hiding, stop hurling hollow insults and start answering some tough questions about his use of a non-profit to make himself a wealthy man and his concealment of the scheme from the IRS."

The primary will be held on August 24.

Reasons why President Obama is the Worst President in History

1. He has loaded up every child in this nation with more debt than any President in history.
2. With his policies and the threat of more such policy, he has destroyed more wealth than any human being in history, which is always what happens when you set out to redistribute wealth: you end up destroying it.
3. He has brought us to the brink of the most massive tax increases in history and if we don't elect enough Republicans in November to stop him that is exactly what we will get.
4. He has forced through legislation without a single republican vote that may well destroy the finest health care system in history when all we needed were some measures to control costs.
5. He has divided America along racial lines in destructive ways and he is doing so again by suing Arizona over its attempt to control the drug trade and human smuggling trade threatening its security.
6. He has failed to form a policy to adequately deal with the vicious Mexican drug cartels that are essentially running parts of that nation and becoming an increasing threat to ours.
7. He has traveled the world making apologies for America instead of defending its timeless and treasured ideals of freedom and peace for all nations of good will.
8. He has said there is nothing exceptional about America, something no other president has ever said and something which alone suggests he is a historically poor president.
9. He has hired people of strange and radical views to hold important federal posts in which they pursue more bad policy that no administration in history has ever pursued.

    No surprise there.

    The GOP...void of ideas.

Quayle is playing politics. He is the son of one of the true idiots of the 20th century, and a very smart naziesque woman. Perhaps he slept through Bush II, or was just so steeped in republican propaganda he has no idea what reality is.

Obama is a hollow corporate president, but he is not the worst president ever. Bush II still holds that dubious honor.

I am an Arizona resident. Politicians such as Mr. Quayle make the citizens of my state look like racists. Mr. Quayle, provide evidence for your statements, and by the way, in 4. Republicans is a proper noun (at least in the grammatical sense) and should be capitalized. "He" did not "force through legislation." The legislation was passed. by a majority vote

What is the definition of "strange and radical views?" Those that differ from yours? If so, I hope that President Obama is reelected and that those "strange and radical views" continue to be discussed in a country where freedom of speech is valued.

This shows a complete misunderstanding of what is required to lead this country.

As is too often the case, criticism focusses on the individual rather than the issues.

The country would be far better off by providing the best support they can to the president in power, helping him to provide best solutions to the critical issues. Enough of all of this other poltical nonsense.

It seems that Ben is no smarter than his father Dan. He says whatever he thinks can help him get ,when in fact he has nothing to back up what he says. Sound familier? He's a chip off the old block. This country does not need is another Quayle in public office!

Instead of bashing Obama, you should teach your daddy how to spell "potato" Here is a reason why you should be ashame of your daddy: He is not smarter than a fifth grader and maybe the limb doesn't fall to far from the tree! You are as dumb as your old daddy.

Totally agree. Obama is trying to destroy our nation. We will slow him down in November and take the next step to impeach, before he drives our glorious country into the ground.

I am not saying Obama is great but I am getting tired of the blame game, instead of blaming how about fixing. Your not worth a crap to the US citizens if you get elected and just sit in Washington and blame the other party. Go dig ditches you would be more useful.

So Bush and his Republican cronies havent destroyed any wealth? The Republicans have historically ran greater debts than the Dems. This guy is an idiot. The bank bail out was bi partisan but the banks ran amuck because of deregulation which was fostered By Reagan. Quit worshipping the rich and take care of the working class or this country will collapse period. The rich hide their money off shore and move valuble jobs overseas they dont care who they sell to, just that the corporation makes money for wealthy share holders not the working people that not only help bulid the corporation but also sacrificed sons in wars to protect the corporations to exploit "business opprotunity" on a global basis now that is done the Amercian public be damned. This is all allowed because there is no regulation. What is protecting the average Amercian way of life? Nothing. The only Tax breaks and protection is for the well heeled. Make it harder to be rich and easier to be comfortable middle class.

Yeah, all this coming from a man who, when asked about connections to a racy website at first denied his involvement, then said he may have given legal advice to the site and later that he may have even posted a comment or two.

His story keeps changing, and his opinion on anything at this point should matter why, exactly???

That's your feeble minded opinion! The worst thing he's done so far is to let Bush and Cheney off the hook (so far) for war crimes.
