Women's group says Palin doesn't speak for them

Washington (CNN) - The Democratic women's political group EMILY's List launched a new campaign Tuesday, taking on conservative candidates endorsed by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

"We didn't want Sarah Palin's voice to go unchallenged," EMILY's List President Stephanie Schriock said at a Washington news conference. She said the campaign, 'Sarah Doesn't Speak for Me' is a way to "call upon women and men to let their voices be heard and to reject Palin's reactionary candidates and backward-looking agenda."

Palin has endorsed candidates in gubernatorial, Senate and Congressional races around the country, calling the women candidates she backed "mama grizzlies." EMILY's List has made its own series of endorsements in races nationwide.

Schriock said the campaign was created because the candidates Palin has endorsed are "extreme" and "bad for America."

Schriock focused criticism on candidates like Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina, who will face Democratic incumbent Sen. Barbara Boxer in November.

Schriock said Fiorina laid off tens of thousands of people as a "failed" corporate CEO. "The choice in California could not be clearer. The choice between a job killer and an EMILY's List hero, Barbara Boxer," said Schriock.

In May, Palin addressed the conservative women's group Susan B. Anthony's List. Countering the EMILY's List event, the group drove its bus with the message "Abortion is Not Health Care" around the block where the news conference was held.

Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said, "EMILY's List's campaign is what "repels women from being a part of the traditional women's movement."

"Palin is used as a punching bag", she said, "Other women who run for political office know this can happen to them too," said Dannenfelser.

"No one is attracted to that approach to politics. That's why there is a hunger for authenticity in politics. Palin has an inclusive approach to politics," Dannenfelser said.

Mama Quitter Grizzly does not speak for me. She is an insult to women everywhere. It is my opinion that she would benefit immensely from psychological intervention.

EMILY's List is not a womens group, it is a pro-abortion group that only supports pro-abortion candidates. The "pro-choice" crowd only supports one choice, so they need to change their name. They are just as extreme as the "pro-life" crowd.

To speak for someone you must first master the language of English and obviously that's something Palin never learned. And Palin's saying she backs "mama grizzlies", tell that to those people who were attacked and killed by grizzlies, tell it to the families of the deceased.

If Americans are so aggrieved with the policies or occupants of the high offices in Washington today, they are entitled to vote them out. This is not a Republican, Democrat, or Teabag way of thinking, it's just being real. But mind you, if you vote in anger and put up candidates who hold extreme ideas in Washington, Americans will be definitely shooting at each other openly in the streets before the next election cycle. There will be no regard to race, creed, or color in the effort to force a change again in Washington. Extreme ideas breeds extremities.

Palin has an inclusive approach to politics? Sarah Palin is nothing but a shrill provocateur. She is extremely divisive in her blatant anti-Americanism. She and her husband can continue to work their separatist agenda. And Carly Fiorina would be a complete joke if she didn't have millions of dirty dollars supporting her quest for power.

Unfortunately, Palin DOES speak for a surprising number of Americans. To revise an old saying, you CAN fool some of the people all of the time.

Oh how the liberals are not ashamed of just making stuff up. Carly Fiorina was a profoundly successful CEO at HP who by the way saved Compaq during her reign by buying the company. Sure there was some duplications of jobs that HP already had people doing, but the real job butcher Mark Hurd is who the HP Board of Directors hired after Carly left. Get your facts straight Ms. Schriock!

It's too bad that, just when we thought we had advanced to a 21st-century view of the sexes, up popped Sarah Palin and her wing-nut "mama grizzlies" to lend credence to the rubric, "dumb ¥". I'm with Emily's List, here: Palin has set back the cause of female participation in politics 150 years.
