Low ticket sales for Palin event

An event featuring Sarah Palin has not proved to be a big sell.
An event featuring Sarah Palin has not proved to be a big sell.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin is normally a major draw on the speaker's circuit, but the former Alaska governor is proving to be a hard sell for an upcoming engagement in Florida.

Palin is scheduled to speak in Jacksonville for a fundraising event on behalf of Heroic Media, a Austin, Texas-based group that describes itself as "a faith-based non-profit that reduces abortion by creating a Culture of Life through television, billboard and internet advertising."

The event - called "Evening of Hope with Sarah Palin" - was planned to be held in a 3,000-seat auditorium but has been moved to a 609-seat venue to ensure the speech will be sold out, Mark Nelson, the Florida director of Heroic Media told CNN.

"We are a new organization…not many people know about us and we have not sold as many tickets as we have liked to, so we are moving it," Nelson said.

Tickets for the event range from $50 to $100.

Kimberly Speirs, a spokeswoman for the organization, said the group did not have "high or low expectations" when it came to ticket sales.

We didn't have much time to promote the event and we are new to the Florida market," she said.

Speirs would not comment on whether Palin is being compensated for her appearance. Palin is also slated to speak at events for the group in Houston and Dallas this fall.

Now that most Americans understand that Obama is not such a great president, Palin is no longer needed.

Gasp! The hero of CNN is somehow not as popular as they made her out to be? What a shocker!

is it a possibilty that Mrs. Palin's anti- "hopey change thingy" message is starting to wear a bit thin? Even if so I doubt if she needs the money anyway.

Here you go, haters, it's the daily Goldstein story, time to get your two minutes' hate out of your system. There still might be a few people out there who don't know what a sad, marginal little fringe group the CNN fans have become, you show 'em!

About the only thing I would pay to see Sister Sarah do is at the side show in Krackerville state fair when she the main attraction – You know when she drops trow and loudly blows human-generated methane gas into a bottle...

OOPS! I'm confusing that with her speeches to all her good christian conservative sheeple – Sorry.

I guess the people in Jacksonville, Florida have alot going for them. They don't pay out good money to hear the shrill screaming of an idiot.

I live in this area and I've never heard of this group. But they booked Ms. Palin to help draw crowds. 3000 down to 609 is pretty significant giving the speaker. While the group may be new, Palin is not.

I don't know, but it could be a sign for things in Florida. She only appeals to the ultra conservative and not mainstream who may be just right of center.

Whatever your political persuasion, Sarah Palin is a big phony out to promote and enrich herself. Reality is starting to catch up with her and in another year, she will be going to small lecture halls around the lunatic fringe.

If La Palin cannot pull a croud here in dirt dumb, tin foil hat North Florida, then her 15 minutes are long over.

  20. stranger in an increasingly strange land

Let me see how Sarah will spin this:

"We did not move from a 3000 seat area to a 609 seat area because of lagging ticket sales. We moved to make it a more intimate setting so my supporters can have a closer experience."

Come on. A ultra-comservative Republican who can't fill a 3000 seat venue in the South is in deep trouble.Espcially with ticket prices as low as $50. This, combined with her support of Racist comentators, is not going to help her develop the fan base she would need for a Presidential run for the next election.

So far she has alienated gays, blacks, Latinos, all religions other than right wing Christians, the poor, union workers, women who believ in equal rights and virtually anyone who is not a Tea Party lover.
I think her job is nearly finished. If there is a group out there that she has not abused, would you please get in contact with her handlers so they can get you guys added to her hate list.

    Your cooperation will be appreciated.
