Low ticket sales for Palin event

An event featuring Sarah Palin has not proved to be a big sell.

An event featuring Sarah Palin has not proved to be a big sell.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin is normally a major draw on the speaker's circuit, but the former Alaska governor is proving to be a hard sell for an upcoming engagement in Florida.

Palin is scheduled to speak in Jacksonville for a fundraising event on behalf of Heroic Media, a Austin, Texas-based group that describes itself as "a faith-based non-profit that reduces abortion by creating a Culture of Life through television, billboard and internet advertising."

The event - called "Evening of Hope with Sarah Palin" - was planned to be held in a 3,000-seat auditorium but has been moved to a 609-seat venue to ensure the speech will be sold out, Mark Nelson, the Florida director of Heroic Media told CNN.

"We are a new organization…not many people know about us and we have not sold as many tickets as we have liked to, so we are moving it," Nelson said.

Tickets for the event range from $50 to $100.

Kimberly Speirs, a spokeswoman for the organization, said the group did not have "high or low expectations" when it came to ticket sales.

We didn't have much time to promote the event and we are new to the Florida market," she said.

Speirs would not comment on whether Palin is being compensated for her appearance. Palin is also slated to speak at events for the group in Houston and Dallas this fall.

Aaaaah... folks are starting to see Sarah Palin for the true PHONEY she is. A woman who has NO credibility, substance or intelligence and does nothing but "babble" her way through anything and everything incoherently!!!

Sarah thought that by hiding from mainstream news media that her TRUE COLORS would not be detected. NOT!!!!!

Amazing "An evening of hope w/Sarah Palin" and she is the one who jokes about "how's that hopey changey stuff working for ya". She wants to be everything Barack Obama is and she knows it!

Ha! The Quitter Twit from Wasilla can't even attract 3000 people now? I'm so glad she is fading. This is an idiot who should have never made it to the national scene.

Wow! From a 3000 seat venue to one only slightly over 600 just to ensure a sellout! Well, if it does sell out you betcha we will hear how great she is! If it doesn't sell out, she will complain that the Liberal Media have driven folks away from listening to her. Either way we will still be stuck with coverage of this useless twit who quit college and the governor's office.

How about "creating a Culture of Life through..." preventing unwanted pregnancies, fighting abuse and incest, preventing domestic violence, educating young people about how the human body works and the dangers of unprotected sex, providing counseling and assistance to desperate and abandoned women, and most of all – how about teaching men to treat women the way they would want their daughters, sisters, and mothers to be treated.

This is encouraging news. Hopefully the event planners will have to give away most of the 609 tickets in order to fill the place.

Good morning America! You are finally waking up to the fact that this women is a nobody- her views are not as important as yours and that you can think for yourself.

I think it is Sarah that HOPEs the evening will be something. The way it is going, the event could be held in an outhouse which would be very symbolic since the extent of Sarah's foreign policy is being able to see Russia from her two holer in Wasilla.

This woman is delusional. But let's all have a warm round of applause for John McCain who brought this woman out in to public life. Let's ask him to send her back.

Well CNN sure wouldn't write that her speech sold out. Liberal media at its best. The only reason CNN has so much about Palin is that they want to humiliate her with all the looney comments that are posted.

"Evening of Hope". I'm so inspired to tears. Really, I had to laugh hard over that one! The only "hope" we have is for Sarah to stifle and go home to Alaska; imagine they don't want her back either, dang.
