Low ticket sales for Palin event

An event featuring Sarah Palin has not proved to be a big sell.
An event featuring Sarah Palin has not proved to be a big sell.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin is normally a major draw on the speaker's circuit, but the former Alaska governor is proving to be a hard sell for an upcoming engagement in Florida.

Palin is scheduled to speak in Jacksonville for a fundraising event on behalf of Heroic Media, a Austin, Texas-based group that describes itself as "a faith-based non-profit that reduces abortion by creating a Culture of Life through television, billboard and internet advertising."

The event - called "Evening of Hope with Sarah Palin" - was planned to be held in a 3,000-seat auditorium but has been moved to a 609-seat venue to ensure the speech will be sold out, Mark Nelson, the Florida director of Heroic Media told CNN.

"We are a new organization…not many people know about us and we have not sold as many tickets as we have liked to, so we are moving it," Nelson said.

Tickets for the event range from $50 to $100.

Kimberly Speirs, a spokeswoman for the organization, said the group did not have "high or low expectations" when it came to ticket sales.

We didn't have much time to promote the event and we are new to the Florida market," she said.

Speirs would not comment on whether Palin is being compensated for her appearance. Palin is also slated to speak at events for the group in Houston and Dallas this fall.

So, if they bring in $69,000 and pay her $50,000 and all first class travel expenses, won't it cut into the advertising money that's left?

Governor Palin should come to Pensacola, Florida and she could sell out the 10,000 seat civic center with no problem.

It doesn't matter if you are a new organization or not. The half term retarded governor is old and old news after two years of thinking/saying nothing of interest.
I would only pay if I could make her "a punching bag" for real. That would bring in millions!!!

Let's hope that this is a sign of Americans coming to realize that Palin does NOT have their best interests at heart, and that her constant confident declarations through Twitter and such are both factually and logically challenged.

Did you say "The event – called "Evening of Hope with Sarah Palin" the title is misleading it should read " Evening of going to hell with Sarah Palin."
The evening of hell tickets are on sale "Tickets for the event range from $50 to $100" so, "Render therefore unto Cæsar (Sarah) the things which be Cæsar's (sarah), and unto God the things which be God's." (Luke 20:25 + Peters). But the big question is Jesus had gathering he charged them no dimes, He turned water to wine and he didn't call himself a brewer!, He cured the sick but he didn't call himself a doctor! he fed the hungry and he charged them nothing! so Sarah and your so called "a faith-based non-profit that reduces abortion by creating a Culture of Life through television, billboard and internet advertising." WAS JESUS A SOCIALIST? before you start talking about reducing abortions through the media channels, please start with your own homes and advice your daughters to close their legs and the problem will be solved! !

Be smart and distance yourself from Palin as well as your wallet. This woman and her family are frauds and have pick-pocketed and pandered hard working Americans out of their money to support she, her non-working husband, and the rest of her clan. Don't let her continue to out smart you and bank on you, keep your money in your pocket for you and your family.

Wouldn't a real "culture of living" involve less television and less advertising?

She is becoming totally irrelevant, thank god. Her lack of depth on any issue (along with her screechy voice) is a major turnoff for this moderate voter..

Finally even the teabaggers are seeing the light, all this opportunist racist witch cares about is money, why anybody would want to pay good money to listen to this woman's annoying screeching voice is beyond me, I'd rather have a double root canal.
