10 week to-do list: Your ideas for Obama, Republicans

CNN has compiled a 10-week to-do list for President Obama and congressional Republicans.

CNN has compiled a 10-week to-do list for President Obama and congressional Republicans.

(CNN) - Strategists on both sides of the political aisle weighed in this week on what President Obama and Republicans must do before the November midterms to give their parties a boost.

The 10-week to-do lists resulted in thousands of comments and suggestions from CNN readers, ranging from constructive to highly critical.

Readers suggested Obama look for a new job and put a muzzle on Vice President Joe Biden, while commenters providing advice for the GOP recommended a muzzle for former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Mouth guards aside, readers also offered up practical guidance for Obama and the GOP. Here are some of the suggestions:

I get so frustrated with people who say the two parties are the same so they won't support either. at this point, Democrats and Republicans are diametrically opposed on most issues. bottom line is the Dems care about the American people and the rethugs worship money above country and the planet. every decision made by the 'right' is based on profit, not on any other consideration like, oh, say, will the human race survive if we don't do this? they are ignorant of simple concepts like carbon dioxide isn't bad in and of itself, but too much of it in the atmosphere is destroying the planet. they seem to hate anyone who isn't white, straight christian. thieir views this election cycle are the most extreme we've ever seen. no abortion, period. amending the constitution to codify their hate. doing away with social security and medicare. raising the retirement age, Again! this country cannot afford another dose of republican rule. the last one almost killed us!

democrats need to grow a back-bone and start telling americans what will happen if the republicans take over congress ie: do away with social security, medicare, funding for grants in education, take away restrictions on our credit card companies that they can again charge us outlandish fees an most of all will let middle glass america pay the tax bills so that the rich that make all the money in america have a tax cut. my family is benefiting from insurance companys giving coverage for pre-existing conditions, that to will go away if republicans repeal the health bill. i just can not understand why any american would want to go backwards by giving the same power that brought america to her knees back to the greedy white man that is only looking out for the rich that don't need us little people. god forbid republicans starting more wars killing our children in the process just in the name of showing off america's super powers.
please america, stop an think about all the above before you write the democrats out of office, even if your not happy with our president. we are the ones that will suffer here!

Get Obama and his co-horts out of DC, get a decent Republican candidate for President, and send home all the "good ol' boys" (Dems and Repubs) to be replaced with decent men and women who care about our country.

My ideas for the Republicans are to stop thinking no is the answer to everything, and to quit asking to extend the bush tax cuts for the rich and greedy.

For Democrats top 3 ideas 1. Get rid of Pelosi. 2. Get rid if Ried. 3. Get rid of Obama/Biden.

    For republicans – change parties

That is an example of the partisan bickering people are involved in ...

Barrak Obama is the first Peoples President – What does that sound like.... Workers of the world unite!

Yeah..Obama needs to look for another job because he is out in 2 years.

I watched a few liberals last night talk abotu how Obama will be re-elected because by 2012 the economy will be better.

Are liberals really that lost? Obama has not done ONE THING that will help the economy, not one. Unemployment will be above 10% in 2012 because of his horrific tax and spend polices and the burdens of Obamacare.

Liberals are finished because they have been exposed for the immoral criminals they really are.

Republicans have come across during their primary season as the party of hatred and racism. (At least we're not hearing as much about their god anymore.) If they have any hope of getting some votes from people who are not racists and hate-mongers, they are going to have to at least pretend to be reasonable. Of course, this runs the risk of alienating their core supporters. A 'sticky wicket', to be sure.

To do list #1: take another vacation. Only 6 vacations so far this year is not enough for such a busy president. Besides, the economy and wars are in such great shape. The President does not need to be in the office working. Hang out, play another round of golf.

Democrats need to tout their accomplishments thus far; pass the legislation they were elected to pass, even without Republican help; start improving the infrastructure providing many needed jobs; keep out of local problems and religious matters; secure the borders; reduce the deficit; and get out of Afghanistan as promised.
Republicans need to stop blocking everything; move to the center; stop listening to the fringe nuts; keep out of local problems and religious matters; come up with actual ideas instead of NO NO NO; stop listening to and supporting agitators and hate-filled liars like Limbo, Becko, Palin, Angle, Hayworth, and the rest of the nuts; and become bipartisan so this country can move forward, and not back to the ways that brought us here in the first place.

    1. Govern from the center
like a move to the center for the next ten weeks will mater.

    2. Tout the administration's accomplishments
The vast majority are against almost all of his accomplishments.

    1. Steer clear of the far right commentators
yes, stay away from those people stating the obvious without concern for being PC

    3. Be conservative, but be bipartisan
Stick to you core values, unless it gets in the way of the other party.

    4. Represent your constituents, not your party's agenda
This can only apply to 3-4 people that voted for things like the stimulus or Obama care

President Obama! Don't listen to the right wing nut case extremists who have capture my former Party of No. We cannot allow then another chance to ruin our country financially with the policies of bushwhacker and now NO ideas, but the same old ones, that reward the rich and punish the lower and middle class. If they win in November we will be giving them a second chance to ruin America!

The Dems and Repubs need to serve those who put them in office and not make everything political. Both parties need to concentrate on JOBS!!!! I'm seeing foreclosures go up every week in my community. If folks don't have a job, they have no money coming in to pay their mortgages or for goods and services. So, find a way to work together for the greater good and think JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!!!!!

I have been proclaimed as unpatriotic by Harry Reid, a neanderthal by Nancy Pelosi, racist by Keith Olberman, greedy by the annoited one, a stupid, gun toting hillbilly by the liberals and a whole lot of other names by those nice democrats and their supporters. Do you think that I will ever vote for them? Liberals seem to think name calling and demonization and degradation of dissenting opinions and dissenters is the way to win. It is a union tactic, which explains why unions are so unpopular. Can't wait until the elections in November to stop some of this lameness and then to get rid of the great divider in 2012. Go ahead liberals, call us more names.

From my perspective and I have a right to my own opinion:

The RepubliCAN'Ts need to stop saying NO and show some
The RepubliCAN'Ts need to STOP fear-mongering!!
The RepubliCAN'Ts need to stop hiding behind the Tea-Party and
admit they are the Tea Party!!
The RepubliCAN'Ts need to stop sending out HATE messages, Nazi
swinging, Muslim accusing, Radical calling shout-outs to the
    President of the United States!!
The RepubliCAN'Ts need to stop making it seem like they are
more 'HOLIER THAN THOU' and admit there are sinners, gays,
cheaters, non-church-goers among them and respect all Religions
    and Races!!

The Democrats need to STOP being afraid of the RepubliCAN'Ts!
The Democrats need to stick together and stop being WET Noodles!
The Democrats need to be proud of their accomplishments and SHOUT IT OUT instead of being afraid of what others are going to say!
The Democrat (MEN) need to grow some 'cojones' (spell check) – the women, well I think they are brave enough!!!

That's my take in a nutshell!!

Ideas for democrats: 1. Quit blaming Bush for the economy when you have expanded debt and deficits to historic levels. 2. Quit casting the GOP as the party of "NO" when they crruently have no power whatsoever to influence the executive, judicial and legislative branches of government. 3. Quit the lies about the benefit and low cost about "free health care." 4. Listen to the vast majority of Americans who think you are out of touch with reality . . .

The one and only thing Obama need to do is to stay focused on his policies; not listening to any poll or media. He should keep in mind that GOP is playing a game of "if you lose then I win" which is the only thing they know how to do.. Stay strong President Obama and please don't get discouraged by what the GOP and media are saying. Every person with a college degree knows that you're not a prophet and will not do magic overnight to turn things around; it will take some time and slowly things will get better. God bless you and bless anyone that is not ingnorant about the truth.

This is a suggestion for the voters: Don't be fooled by distractions from either party. Notice how everytime we get close to an election, some big social arguement gets in the way of real dialogue about what the government should be doing. This time it is the mosque in New York. Last time it was Obama's religion, John McCAin's age, and Sarah Palin's lack of reading material. We are being purposely distracted so we won't ask the real questions: Why aren't employers getting sent to jail for hiring illegal immigrants? Isn't that the easiest way to solve that problem? Exactly how much money do we plan on spending to buy Iraq's democracy? Where the heck is Bin Laden and why can't the best military in the world find him? Are we even trying anymore?

Obama has been driving the car for nearly two years. Voters elected a dangerous left-winger who trusts government to run health care, car companies, banks and the student loan program. The driver in chief not only sees no need for a course correction, he wants to step on the gas. President slow down, take a deep breathe, look at the American people , see what they want and need. Use common sense, instead of your ideology. Your path and advise from your advisers is not working to better life in America.

For the President.... keep on doing what you are doing, eventually the message will be heard for at this point there is not much even a Republican President could have done...

For the GOP, STOP saying NO!!!!! STOP saying "cut taxes", you know and I know it help wreck our economy!!!!! STOP saying you will "repeal and replace Obamacare", you had six years in the majority and wouldn't even breath the word healthcare and unless you get a 2/3 majority in both houses you WON'T be able to override a veto.

Numbers 1-10: Work together to LEAD this country. Both parties are the party of no good ideas, and need to collectively figure out how to make government more effective across the board. Partisan bickering is killing this country.
