Charges dropped against Blagojevich brother

(CNN) - Prosecutors have dismissed all four charges against Robert Blagojevich, brother of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, defense attorney Michael Ettinger told reporters Thursday.

"I was in shock, and still am," Ettinger said. He said when he told his client, Robert Blagojevich said, "'Oh my God, oh my God.' And I told him 'You're done. You're free.' His wife is hysterical."

Ettinger said prosecutors told a judge at a hearing Thursday they were dropping the charges because of "the disparity in the roles between Robert and Rod" and "in the interests of justice."

I love Blagy! He isn't afraid to play hardball to get what he wants against these right-wing scumbags.

They shold drop the charges against Rod Blagojevich also not because he's not guilty but they don't have a case.Fitzgerald is caught up in a personel vendetta and in the end he'll lose.

For 2 years, the prosecutors mentioned that they had the necessary evidence to not only convict the former governor but also others including his brother.

I am beginning to wonder if they really did have any case or if it were just a fishing expedition.

The problem exists that there was not a real case to start. Sounded like a witch hunt to start. By the way what did he do again?

If Blago's brother is innocent then Blago himself must also be innocent, since they were co-defendants. This proves the original charge was a sham done for publicity purposes, to make an example of a high-profile defendant just for having a big mouth.
