Al Sharpton told a rally in Washington that he will not let conservatives ‘turn back the clock.’

(CNN) - The Rev. Al Sharpton, who is spearheading the "Reclaim the Dream" march and rally Saturday on the 47th anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, indicated that conservative forces will face a fight in the upcoming elections.

"We're coming out to fight and we're not going to let you turn back the clock," he said.

King's "dream" has nothing to do with the insipid, "change of the wind" rhetoric that is called "politics" in this country. For Sharpton to invoke M L King and tie his speech and his dream to the "conservative fight" is totally lame. Civil rights knows no political affiliation, is applicable to any citizen of this country, from any party, race, creed, etc.

So go right ahead, Rev, further your own political agenda by twisting the words of the one of the greatest civil rights leaders of our time...
