Obama: New levee system in NOLA to be finished in 2011

(CNN) – Saying, "we should not be playing Russian roulette every hurricane season," President Barack Obama said Sunday the construction of a fortified levee system to protect the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, is underway, and will be finished by next year.

obama has had nothing to do with the rebuilding of the levee system in NOLA but I am sure he will take credit for them unless they fail during a hurricane that is. He's trying for a spin next that President Bush caused the hurricane to hit NOLA because he did not like the place but he tried that during the campaign.

Now I get it. Obama is using reverse psychology to make us like Bush and be more understanding of the challenges facing the President during the strongest Hurricane on record during a season of historical hurricane size and magnitude.

I appreciate him explaining how historically challenging it was, and since the recovery was swifter than expected, what a historical effort Bush put into the cities and states hit by Katrina. I agree with Obama. Katrina was harder than anything he has yet to face as President. It truely required a humble man to recognize things had gone wrong, and shift course.

Thank you President Obama. You are a true inspiration giving credit where credit is due and looking past political opportunism.

God bless and protect the people in New Orleans and surrounding Gulf States that never again should we see such a disaster.
