Goolsbee tells Blitzer: ‘We’ve got to be mindful,’ prevent a double dip recession

(CNN) - In an interview just taped for The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Austan Goolsbee, one of President Obama’s top political advisors and the chief economist for the White House Economic Recovery Advisory Board, said he doesn’t anticipate a double dip recession.

But the economist added that economists should be “mindful” of the possibility.

The full interview will air this afternoon on The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer starting at 5 p.m. ET.

BLITZER: How worried are you about a double dip recession?

GOOLSBEE: I don't think we will have a double dip recession. But it's –clearly anybody should keep their eye on that. You saw at the Jackson Hole fed conference in Wyoming that the - the fed is - is
eying that. The central bankers from around the world are paying attention to it. I think if we passed a small business recovery bill, if we do what the president is asking and extend the middle class tax
cuts, and if we go with his export initiative - he's outlined various ideas to promote exports. I don't think we will have a double dip recession. But it's clearly something we've got to - we've got to be mindful, and we've got to prevent.

If you are going to do the Democrat thing and take only part of my comments to suite your needs, and make up numbers.

I invite everyone to read my whole post...

Hey Sniffit! It's pretty obvious that YOU never had to meet a payroll or manage a business. Your uneducated commentary clearly shows your desire for class warfare because on no uncertain terms you're one of the Liberal minions expecting a free handout! Sorry that your life is in such disarray. You should have made some better choices in your youth and if so, I bet you'd favor conservatism. By the way, Bozo had more lobbyist campaign contributions from Wall St. than any Presidential candidate in history! Now go take your Prozac and get out of your jammies because it's after 4 PM

Business analysts are predicting the biggest chunk of Obama's job creation will come in Q4, specifically around November 2!

In spite of the new job creation, there will be no jobs "saved" on that day.

  4. Randolph Carter, I'm no expert, but...

Keith in Austin, they only call it class warfare when we fight back. Have a nice day!

Silence DoGood – WHEN did he said that the recession was over? Last time I checked he told that it was going to take months if not years and that there were signs that the Economy was recovering, NOT that it had recovered.

Orlando Patriot – Thanks (not) for the daily dosis of baseless doom and gloom.

Cindy Merrill – The Judiciary (specially with Scalia still in the SCOTUS) is independent, and the Legislative is not a 'sign down now or else' group to all the POTUS ideas and wishes. If you have any proofs against it, show us, otherwise...

PS – Ayn Rand promoted egoism as a virtue and compassion as a mortal sin, CHECK HER WRITHINGS, so that says a lot about those who read her books and praise them.
