Obama to hold news conference September 10

President Obama will hold a news conference on Sept. 10.

President Obama will hold a news conference on Sept. 10.

Washington (CNN) –President Obama will have a news conference next Friday September 10, his first full-scale question-and-answer session at the White House in nearly four months according to his aides.

The news conference will come at an action-packed time for the President, just days after he helped launch direct Middle East peace talks and gave a prime-time Oval Office address on the end of combat operations in Iraq, as well as falling less than two months before a critical midterm election where Democrats' majorities in the House and Senate are on the ropes largely because of the nation's economic uncertainty.

Obama's last news conference at the White House was on May 27 in the East Room, and was devoted largely to the Gulf oil spill that was consuming his presidency at the time.

This will be Obama's eighth news conference at the White House since he took office. He has so far held six sessions at the White House with reporters lasting approximately one hour apiece, including four in prime time.

The White House did not disclose the precise time of day for next week's news conference.

  1. The Incompetent Mr. Obama

Which NBC or MSNBC anchor will be lobbing up the easy questions?

No one is going to watch anyway. People are sick of this bozo.

He is incompetent, arrogant, and over exposed.

I love this fact that his over exposure and worship by biased media is causing people to hate this donkey.

How many times has he said he is going to focus on the economy, govt spending, and the deficit. He's cried WOLF too many times so the sheep herders aren't coming anymore.........

This will be Obama's seventh full-scale news conference at the White House since he took office.
The President answers the question of all news agencies, yet we have republicans running for office who run from the press(Sharon Angle). I don't trust politicians, but I really don't trust the one's who don't speak to the media and take pre-screened questions(Sharon Angle).

Wait a second, this MUST be a typo. President Obama only talks to teleprompters! He won't answer questions from the media. Isn't it ironic that the media loves this man?

Obama has been in office almost 2 YEARS and this is his FIRST full scale question and answer session? What happened to "transparency" and "letting the american people" know what is going on? The ONLY reason he is doing this is the polls show what the people think of him and if he is to have ANY chance of pushing his ideology and socialist agenda he needs Democrats to get reelected.

Sorry Obama, the citizens of this country realize now how pathetic and incompetent you are and we are going to FIX this problem in November when we throw ALL of your Democrat cohorts out of office!!

President Obama is an excellent communicator and will do a great job.

If you want to be a leader in our government, you have to be able to talk to the media and answer reasonable questions. If you run from it, then voters should run from you.

Palin, candidate Sharon Angle in NV, candidate Rand Paul in Ky, and candidate Ben Quayle in AZ are all examples of Republican candidates who literally run and hide from the press. If they cannot handle simple questions from the press, they cannot handle a high pressure, intelligence-required seat in Congress.

Notice too how Republicans ONLY appear on FOX (the Republican network) because they know the hosts will agree with every idiotic statement they make and will not make them explain or talk in details. Republicans are bullies and cowards and NONE deserve to be in Congress come November. They have betrayed the People and betrayed America in our recovery just for political game playing. We need leaders who WORK FOR THE PEOPLE AND DELIVER SOLUTIONS – THE ONLY LEADERS DOING THAT ARE DEMOCRATS.

Then the Oprah watching union thugs stuffed the balott boxes to get him elected so he can make us all socialists like Canada!!!!!! Their going to make us listen to Gordon Lightfoot!!!!!!! He's Canadian!!!!! How do we know Gordon Lightfoot isn't a Muslin??? No one has seen his birth certificate either!!!!!! Wise up, real Americans!!!!!! Thank you Mr. President. Please keep yourself accessible to the American public, even though, as we all know, politicians and hacks will criticize you for what ever you do.

Honestly, the demonizing of this President of late, has been ridiculous.

  18. HypocriCNNation!

Hmmm! Personally, I Wish He Wouldn't Do It Because One The Media With Its Shenanigans Doesn't Deserve It. Next It Could Do More Harm Than Good (Refer To Reason Number One) Unless He Talks Fully About The Economy (The Number One Issue In The Country).

Ok here we go ... the fake patriots will complain and moan about Obama's not doing it right, he's words are too complicated, or not complicated enough, he talks too much, he doesn't talk enough, no matter what our President says the right-wing mob of hate and loathing can't stand it.

We have a great President who is doing a great job.

    And yes – Bush/Cheney sucked!!
They are responsible for every crappy thing they did. We know you GOPers won't admit mistakes let alone take responsiblity for his or your actions, but the rest of the country is made up of people who live in the real world. Grow up.

Oh, nearly 4 months. It is not like he doesn't have anything else to do than to answer to the lame media who is clearly bias, critical against anything he does or says. Maybe then the media can really focus on the important things facing the a makeover of the Oval Office. Can you say loosers? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's see just how much of the press conference time is burned up with opening remarks via teleprompter, thereby limiting the time for questions. Then, let's see just how much time Opuppet spends giving long, rambling answers to each question as it comes, thereby limiting the number of questions that are asked. Recall he took 22 minutes once at a town hall to answer a woman's question.

Then, too, let's see how many of the questions are on "softball" subjects rather than on:

Did your administration withhold the CBC projections re Obamacare before the vote?

Will you veto any bill containing earmarks or that increase the deficit (in other words, do not comply with "Paygo")?

You campaigned on cutting the deficit, yet you increased it many times? Did you not break your campaign promise?

You promised transparency but you, for example, held closed door meetings with BP and have non-transparent Czars on every conceivable subject. Why? And, who pays for the Czars? And, you promised you would have no lobbyists in your administration, yet you have scores? Why did you break your promise.

You continue to blame Republicans for stalling legislation, yet your party enjoys large majorities in the Senate and House. The Republicans can't stop legislation. Shouldn't you be blaming your own party?

    You get the drift.
