A failed economy today is a direct result of George Bush and the GOP failed policies. At least Obama is trying to correct the problem. Without the stimulus monies we would really be in deep depression. We are a nation of angry people who have been living well above our means....so please grow up and except Obama's help!

Obama didn't care about employment. He squandered an entire year on health care, figuring that the unemployed should just accept unemployment as "adequate". Now, he still is doing nothing, but blaming his failures on the GOP. People need to stop listening to the lies, and take corrective action, in November.

Can't wait to see what happens in November. Sit back and watch the Democrats fall like dominoes. By the time Obama's position is up for grabs, the middle income, working class and anyone making over 250,000 (which by the way is not illegal or is it a sin) will have had a taste of paying for their health care along with all the NONWORKING folks health care and Obama will sink like the Titanic. As far as polls go-I have had folks call and start asking questions and when they find out I am not a DEMOCRAT they hang up and that is the end of their polling me!! How funny.

If people think things are bad now wait and see what happens with more Republicans in the Senate and Congress. Not one bill will make it through to signing, not one government agency will get the people it needs to do their job, not one court in the land will get the judges needed to move justice forward. The country will be at a standstill, held hostage by the Republicans who just cannot accept being in control. Those are the tactics they have used for two years and like small children, if they are rewarded you will see a lot more of the same behavior.

Anyone who has taken economics 101 knows full well that the situation facing our economy is tied more to policies in place for a number of years that allowed Wall Street to create the no income no asset loans which flooded the market with speculators driving home values through the roof. The over inflated values created a bubble that eventually burst in 2007. Let's stop living the fairy tale that Wall Street has the good of our society in mind......its the bottom line for investors, not integrity.

What does the republicans stand for? First they bitch about big government and how the temporary sensus workers was a big fasague, and private job creation was the only way to stimulate the economy. Now we are losing the burden of big government and stimulating the econmy with thousands of private sector jobs and they are still hollering. They have done absolutely nothing to help this economy and are doing every thing to see us fail, by flooding the economy with fare and hatemungering, forcing the masses to save their money instead of spending it to stimulate our economy.

It wasn't Bush who put people in houses that they could not afford, try Dodd and Frank and the Dems. It wasn't Bush who repealled the Glass-Steagall Act that allowed financial institutions to engage in activities that made them fail and need to get bailed out by taxpayers, it was Clinton and the Dems.
I know it is easier for the liberals to just blame Bush instead of researching the true activities that led to this mess.

The current problems with the economy are 100% the result of Obama and democrats careless spending of tax payer money without considering how any of these useless programs would ever be paid for. The economy will never recover as long democrats try to promise things they cannot deliver just to get votes. I work 3 jobs and feel like I am being punished for it, so that illegal aliens and people who choose not to work can benefit from the taxes I pay. :::Message to Obama and Congress::: Socialism does not work and punishing the population that wants to be productive will only bring the whole country down.

Oh and by the way if you want the true poll numbers look to Rasmussen or Gallup not the liberal CNN. People trust the GOP over the demos on the economy 48 to 37 so obviously this poll is a lie to begin with. In fact they trust the GOP in 9 of the major categories of security,economy, jobs, and so on. They also favor the GOP in A generic poll of likely voters 47 to 37 over the Demos in the Nov election and it is projected the the GOP will gain as many as 60 and with more certainty 45 seats in the congress and win control and 9 seats in the senate and if the win 10 they gain control of the senate as well. So obviously you can not reconcile this poll with the real numbers from all the other polls. Except that 8 of 10 do think the economy is bad but most blame the Demos not the GOP as calmed here as clearly evidenced in the polls favoring the GOP over the DEMOS.

What it should say...
Rate the economy: poor
Are we seeing signs of recovery: yes
Is our foundation for the future being reset: yes.
Do you see signs that poeple are more comfortable with the future: yes
The movie box office is at an all-time high. retail spending is better than expected. People are traveling ( I'm a travel agent!)
After being told to spend frivilously and live above our menas, americans are finally saving, cutting back on the 100.00 dinner in fasvor of the 50.00 one, buying when they need not just to keep up and thinking before spending.
These to me are signs of a positive economy and a good foundation .
America is fine. The media is still just sensationalizing a rough period.

The party that gave us a great economy?? You show your ignorance with those comments. The economy does not fluctuate daily with policy changes; it takes time for impacts to be felt. The decisions made in the early 2000s contributed to the recession. Republican policies caused this recession.

This poll shows anger against the Republicans. A poll aired on USA Today showed anger against the Democrats. It all depends on who's taking the polls and what they expect the results to prove before they even conduct the poll. ANY polls are liable to be flawed because they are based on tlephone surveys conducted over land lines. The majority of black, non-white, recent immigrant, and younger Americans have cell phones, not land lines, so they don't get counted. The disproportionate number of older white voters who get counted in predominantly "red" states will always throw these polls off.
