(CNN) – Republican Sen. John McCain on Sunday invited President Barack Obama to visit the border with Mexico to get a complete picture of the region and called on the president to do more for security.
If "anybody hasn't seen what's going on south of our border, they have been oblivious to the terrible, terrible struggle that's going on down there - 28,000 Mexican citizens being killed, the murders taking place just south of our border, the invasions and the insecurity in the southern part of our state," the Arizona senator said on "Fox News Sunday."
Securing the border must be a priority for the current administration, he said.
"I'd love for the president to come and visit the border. Unfortunately, he hasn't had time to do so," McCain said.

McCain should go out insearch of some of those "headless bodies" and then retire so "Half Gov." Palin can select him as her VP choice in 2012. Oh how we would love that.
Senator McCain...take your own advice! Your constituents see your face only when it comes time to run for re-election. Our guess is that you and Palin are looking at Russia from her home in Anchorage instead of dealing with the issues facing the common citizens of Arizona....like gathering support for the President's jobs bill.
Mc Cain was rejected in 2008 so he will always be there because his feelings are still hurt.
McCain still doesn't get it. Obama WANTS the illegal immigration to continue......that's why he is refusing to do anything about it!
What is he really going to see? The border is quite huge. Anything he would see most likely would be staged. The Secret Service and others would not put him in harm's way if there should be such a case. That is a ridiculous waste of the President's time and the taxpayers' expense.

Illegal immigration from Mexico is at historically low levels– far lower than it was during the last administration. Crime committed by illegal immigrants is at historically low levels.
Why this is suddenly such a front-burner issue is a mystery.

Arizona is an American State. Although Arizona did not vote for Obama, he should not be ignoring their problems.
So where do you want this money to come from for more Fence and servailince equipment? Why does the President need to visit the border – he is already being told by the LYING Brewer that there are 'beheadings' there!! He also has McCain backing that up (well maybe not now because Brewer RETRACTED and told everyone she is a LIAR).
The MORE this administration does for AZ, the MORE they want. But NEVER, not ONCE did they ever say they appreciate what this administration has done thus far!!! The crime rate in AZ is way down since President Obama took office and you do not see the Governor nor McCain quoting those facts!!!
