Obama: They talk about me like a dog

(CNN) – Those following President Obama's prepared remarks during a speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Monday were thrown a bit of a curveball when it came to a description of his critics:

"Some powerful interests who had been dominating the agenda in Washington for a very long time and they're not always happy with me. They talk about me like a dog. That's not in my prepared remarks, but it's true," he told a crowd largely consisting of union members.

The line was a rare departure from a president who normally sticks close to the text of his speech and may forecast a more aggressive tone on the part of Obama as the midterms approach.

The address is the first of two speeches this week in which Obama will try and frame his administration's response to the recession, less than two months ahead of midterm elections where Democratic majorities in the House and Senate are on the ropes.

Good for you Mr. President– Call 'em out! Hold those who truly want to ruin this country with their racism, allegiance to corporations, moves to privatize social services, disdain for the poor, and on and on and on, accountalbe. Your base is with you and may God bless you for your efforts.

  5. Facts are not fair to the GOP

All the GOPpers are missing that $4 a gallon gasoline that Bush brought us. More profits for big oil means more money for republicans. As for the name calling, these southern white republican gentlemen have not accepted the civil rights legislation, and are desperate to get back to those good ole days.If I was into name calling, I would add, . . . the lying scum that makes up the GOP are fascist pigs destroying the constitution and our nation.

hmm... a dog... i.e. ugly- no I think not, happy tail wagging- possibly, loving and dedicated- possibly, lapping up what falls from the table- not really.... hmm... Barack should stick to the teleprompter!
Or maybe he is describing his democratic handlers who are feeding him the agenda to promote... now that seems the most likely.

why can't I see the comments left so far?

as for the article – Dogs are mans best friend and so far this administration is only friends with a small minority that is taking money and freedoms from many.

    not mans best friend

Another observation: , Obama shouldn't overly concern himself with the how the GOP talks about him , regardless of which canine is being used in reference to his person , his current major problem being the way 58% of America Citizens talk about him around the family dinner table , and in my view , no amount of Kennels on the globe could ever hope to hold all of those negative opinions .....:)

  15. The Truth

Good for Obama. I have not been too wild about the man as I usually am not too wild about any politician. But if he can go more off script like this and say the truth and name names, then I think the whole world would stand behind him. Tell us what really goes on in Washington. There is a lot of scumbags sniffing around in Washington. Why not be honest and tell us who they are and what they are doing? People would stop dealing with those lobbyist's companies. Maybe Obama wouldn't get huge donations from any corporations but he would make it strictly off popularity from being the first president to ever expose things for what they really are. Let's stop the democrat/republican BS and just do what's right. There is no better way to fight evil than to bring it into the light and show it to everyone.

It's about time Obama show he has some guts, I am sick to death of every tired republican candidate coming out with the same line, Obama is bad for the country, why not say why you are good for the country. These people have no substance all they can do is blame Obama, when he is no longer president I wonder who they will then blame.
