Canton, Ohio (CNN) – A source close to Ohio Democratic Congressman John Boccieri tells CNN that although the White House invited him to President Obama's speech in Cleveland Wednesday, he has not yet decided whether he will attend.
The source says the first term Democrat, who is in a neck and neck race in his conservative district, has his own plan for R&D tax credits for small businesses, and he is waiting for details about the president's. Boccieri already has events scheduled Wednesday, including one with the local police, which the source called "local priorities."
Boccieri's 16th district is about an hour's drive from Cleveland. Although voters there elected Boccieri in 2008, they went for John McCain over Barack Obama. His opponent, Jim Renacci, is following the GOP playbook this year, trying to tie Boccieri to President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Don't play the games of the GOP and let them poison the Democratic Party with their slash and burn politics of hate. Either be a Democrat or join the sell-out Republicans.
These dem reps beleive the repug scare tactic more than the people. The health care policy provided thirty million people with care and lower cost. I remembered when the health care cost was outrageous. Not saying its great now but its way better that it use to be.
It does not matter, he is going home. If he stands alone he loses, if he stands with nobummer he loses by a larger margin.
We know a lot of Democrats were elected in 2008 because of President Obama. What a bunch of gutless, spineless wimps some Democrats are. If you don't stand by President Obama you will lose and can always join the Republican Party.
Al Gore lost election because he did not use Bill Clinton, this congressman should learn lesson from that.
Coward, Progressive Democrats get him out of office at the next election.
