More Americans think Republicans in Congress would do a better job dealing with the economy than Democrats, according to a new poll.

Washington (CNN) - Republicans have a slight edge over Democrats on the economy, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday indicates that 46 percent of Americans say that Republicans in Congress would do a better job dealing with the economy, with 43 percent saying that Congressional Democrats would do a better job on the top issue on the minds of Americans. The GOP's three point advantage is within the poll's sampling error.

The Republicans three point edge is a big shift from last year, when the Democrats held a 52 to 39 percent advantage. The GOP leads 51 to 32 percent on the economy among Independents, and they have a nine point advantage on the issue among voters 65 and older.

What short memories and ignorance is shown in these numbers. Who the heck created the economic mess and lost job at the rate of 400,000 to 700,000 a month? Now there have been 8 months of small growth, but growth never the less in the face of the economic, banking and investment mess created by the Repulsive Republicans and the Party of NO Nothing!

Funny how short people's memory is, it was the Republicans who drove the economy into the ditch in the first place.

The voters have only one choice as both the Republicans and the Democrats can take full credit for the failing economy and huge indebtedness of the Nation. The emphasis on global economy to lower the wages of the "Private Sector" to be competitive while at the same time enlarging Government and giving huge raises to the Defense Department and maintaining 880 military Bases and a huge Military budget-most of which is to private contractors of whom we have some 250,000 still in Iraq at U.s. Taxpayer expense plus a new front in Afghanistan adds up to total bankruptcy of the U.S. Economy. The voters have the option to remove incumbents of both parties as fast as possible!

WHY????? They have no plan – except for tax cuts and "TBD". What is wrong with people?

I think there should be an education and intelligence requirement for voting. Clearly there are some people who are not thinking clearly or have not paid close attention to things.

Wake up people and read up on your candidates. See what they have done for you and this country – recently and over the past 10 years.
